Blog 20: History Remembered

DUE Friday March 21, 2014
The twentieth and twenty-first century saw great changes. In your opinion, what is ONE change that should be remembered about the twentieth or twenty-first century? Use specific reasons and details to explain your choice.
Additionally, for the second paragraph, choose another historical era (from any country and any time period). Explain an invention, achievement or idea that, according to you, changed history. Again, detailed examples and specific explanations are key to receiving full credit (Don't allude to an incident or generalize).

Please do not repeat the information provided by other people. Be creative and original.

  1. This was the invention that defined the turn of the millenium. It changed the world, and all of our lives, and the ones to come. The thing that connected the world, the Internet. The Internet was the thing that really defined us going into the 2000s. This invention allowed for knowledge to be readily available to anyone with a computer. Sites such as Google allow to sift through all the information you’d want as a student, but as a testament to how massive the internet really is, Google can only search about. 4% of the Internet, leaving almost all of it out of their reach. The Deep Web contains 7,500 terabytes of information, compared to the Surface Web’s, what Google can search, 19. sites such as NBC and the New York times gives us by the hour updates on breaking news, and sites like WebMd allow us to find all kinds of facts. Although it has took away from society, the Internet truly was a gift that aided mankind.

Even in earlier history, achievements and inventions were able to change the face of the world. Movements such as the Industrial Revolution, from the 1700s to the early 1900s, brought many lasting changes the modern world. Changes that came in the wake of the Industrial Revolution included the poularity of child labor, and the soon passing of many work laws. For example, child labor was soon banned in the U.S. after the dawn of the Industrial Revolution hit them, and the Mine Act in Britain did not allow for women and children to work in mines. The Internet and the Industrial Revolution both changed the world in unique and momentous ways. Their impacts were significant, and should never be forgotten.

  2. Out of all the inventions that have been made, I feel that the internet is a very important one. Without it, none of us would be doing this right now. It’s amazing how such a little project ended being a network of networks that was used by billions of people every day. It started out as the Arpanet, a small network to communicate between 4 computers. As time went on, though, more people wanted to use it, mainly due to e-mail. The internet has revolutionized on how we communicate. E-mail sent all across the world in an instant. It has even become a necessity in education. You can’t go a single month without there being some sort of assignment that you need to use the internet. And let’s not forget about social-networking sites. You can have a million online friends and have 10 friends in real life, and you can still feel good about yourself. Also, with the internet, video game layers can compete against another person from around the world. Take CoD or Pokémon for example. You can fight with anyone you want in a mere seconds. Without the internet, society would be not be as advanced and messed up. Hint Hint
As for the other invention of sorts, I would like to talk about language. Language, I can safely say, IS the most important invention in the world. Forget all those other scientific discoveries and mathematical theories. Without language, we wouldn’t even have been able to communicate with others about our discoveries. Language saw the beginning of communication and thus far has evolved even more and more. There are thousands upon thousands of languages that have been spoken, with some of them being lost in time, like Latin. What is interesting is that not even the brightest of scholars have been able to find an exact date of when language began. Though that’s mainly due to the fact that there is barely any evidence and scholars tend to make inferences on fossil records and other things. There have been a couple of theories on when language originated, but of course, they are only theories. With the invention language, mankind has been able to progress so much and now look at where we are now. Humans now dominate the planet and are pretty much the apex predator of all creatures. Unfortunately though, I recall seeing a video that said that if al life forms were to die off and humans were the only ones left, the world would be destroyed. On the other hand, if all humans were to be wiped out, all other life forms and the planet would flourish. What I’m trying to say is, although we have become the most evolved creature per say, it doesn’t mean that we help the Earth at all. Anyway, sorry I got off topic for a bit. The main point is, without language, I wouldn’t be able to do what I am doing right now. Truly, language is the foundation of our society.

    1. Before you say I was not creative and original, I'd like to say that when I first got on, no one had posted a comment. I though I was free to write anything I want. Of course, though Zach happened to write about the same topic as I did. Now, in no way do I blame Zach. It was merely a coincidence that we had the same idea. I'd also like to point out that while we did have the same first topic, our reasons about it are completely different. So please consider this before thinking I copied anyone. Also, I had dinner before posting this, and overall I tend to take my time with these blogs. If you want me to write a new paragraph Mrs. Ell, I understand.

  3. J.K Rowling once said, “Imagination is not only the uniquely human capacity to envision that which is not, and therefore the fount of all invention and innovation. In it’s arguably most transformative and revelatory capacity; it is the power to that enables us to empathize with humans whose experiences we have never shared.” People were once so occupied trying to survive that they had no time to invent things. Once people focused less on survival, they had more time to use their imaginations and start to invent things as the quote states. There have been several great inventions that have changed the human experience, especially in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. One great change that has occurred in this time period is the creation of social media. It all began in 1994 when Beverly Hills Internet (BHI) started Geocities, which allowed users to create their own websites. By 1997, the Internet had over a million websites where people began to blog. Since then, people have advanced with social media as evidenced by MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, Instagram and so much more. It is amazing to think about how social media has affected our lives. People are able to connect with people who live across the world much more easily now. Social media also spreads information faster than any other media. More people are aware about what is going on in the world using social media rather than watching the news on TV because it is quicker. Of course, social media has its downfalls like everything else but, it is certainly a change to society.
In the 1700s, one of the greatest ideas in mankind occurred. This idea was electricity. In 1750, Benjamin Franklin sought to prove that lightning was caused by electricity. Franklin is known to have flown a kite with a metal key attached to it into a thundercloud. Even though it is not known exactly when, how or if he preformed this experiment, Franklin is credited for the idea that has caused a chain reaction. By the late 18th century, Italian scientists Luigi Galvani and Alessandro Volta developed the first battery. This idea and discovery of electricity and the invention of the first battery has impacted society tremendously. It is because of electricity that we have lights, cell phones, laptops, machines that work in factories to provide us essentials, transportation and other things too numerous to mention. Without electricity, we would probably be making our own clothes by hand, have a difficulty communicating with other people who are far away and we would be going to bed by seven p.m due to the lack of lighting.

Many inventions have been made during the last century. They have changed the world, both in good ways and bad ways. One such invention that caused a great change in what humans do in their daily lives, especially in the U.S., is the electronic Television, which was invented early in the 1900s. The television has truly changed how people act and what they do. This change really isn’t beneficial. It has changed society, but not positively. Most people have a TV, by 1998 98% of Americans had at least one television set.. Most people who have a TV watch it every day, the typical American spends from 2 and a half hours to 5 hours a day watching TV.. The Television has allowed for gaming counselors and various forms of video games or devices to be made. Now none of these are too good for people. Sure the TV allows people to get their news and watch sports or learn about world events and important information, but most people don’t use the TV for that most people, including myself, watch a lot of crude and vulgar shows. Or people will watch senseless shows or shows that are okay, but still take up time. These shows like American Dad, Family Guy and South park are not family friendly shows and don’t teach people any lessons to become better citizens. Rather they portray people who are vulgar and crude and it gives the audience bad ideas and morals. Granted I love all three of the shows I mentioned, it makes humans less intelligent and worse people. Also, the amount of time people waste watching TV is a problem. Whether a person be watching news, a cartoon, a vulgar show, or playing video games, TV is consuming them. They are spending a lot of their day sitting and watching TV. This time could be better spent by going outside, exercising, doing work, hanging out with friends, and many other activities. TV also makes people lazy because all they do is sit around and watch TV. So the invention of TV has changed society. It should and will be remembered, but maybe not for a good reason.

    1. During the 1800s an invention was made that is greatly important. This invention is the incandescent lamp, made by Thomas Edison. The incandescent lamp, or light bulb, is what we use in houses today, except they are improved. When Thomas Edison first made a successful light bulb that would glow from several hours it worked by electricity passing through a thin platinum filament in a glass bulb vacuum that made the filament melt slower. The electricity heats the metal, filament, hot enough that it glows. Today we use tungsten as the filament for light bulbs and Thomas Edison used another filament to make the light bulb glow longer, but that was his first light bulb, nay the first light bulb made that was small and would glow for several hours, and wasn’t too bright to be in homes. This invention is so important because light bulbs are key to humans seeing in the dark. In homes, almost every home has light bulbs that light up the home and make it possible to see. Before people needed to use candles for light, and that was not good for eyes and the light was poor. To go outside and through dark places like tunnels people had to make torches. Now we use small light bulbs in flashlights to take into dark places, and we have light bulbs to light up every room in a house. The light bulb has made life much better and seeing I the dark much easier. It is part of everyday life and without it, humans could not be nearly as productive.

  5. There are many inventions that should be remembered in the 20th century. One very huge invention that took a huge toll was the iPhone. The only phone that was a portable computer and phone combined. Along with other features and the iPhone has also improved throughout the years as well. It has helped people throughout their daily lives and with work purposes. It help society with work, everyday life, and stay in touch with others.

There are many inventions that possibly changed history but one stands out more than others. That inventions was the telegram. It was the first invention that allowed people to communicate. It was the start of something new and big. This helped greatly because now instead of sending mail you could call that person. Another great outcome was that now instead of sending messengers during war all you had to do was call. It made a lot easier for everyone back then.

  6. The iPad changed the twenty first century greatly. People of all ages benefit from them as they are useful all around. For young students; an iPad is great for learning as apps from an App store can be downloaded. If older people want to sharpen their memory there are crossword puzzles, Sudoku, chess, checkers; all of these apps can be downloaded and can help not only the younger generation, but the older one too. Books can be bought or downloaded for free and read off this device. Movies can be watched off this device in addition. The popular site YouTube can be accessed and for free tons and tons of videos varying from being educational to entertainment purposes can also be downloaded. There are many things separately that combined, all fit into the iPad. An iPad can be a book, game, movie, and there are numerous benefits to having one. A person can download apps to help them meet new people or connect with friends. The iPad was a very beneficial invention of the twenty first century.
Iron is another invention greatly useful in today’s society; not only that but also useful back then. Iron became used and made with things around 1200 BC. It is used to make the parts of automobiles, tools, machine parts, etc. Iron is cheap which means it is a very common metal. Back then it was used for weaponry; improving weapons for war or in general. Iron can also color clothing and paint, and fireworks. Not only that but iron is used in modern technology. Office and or school supplies iron is used for such as paper clips and staples. Kitchen utensils such as pans are made of iron. As you can see iron has many uses.

  7. An invention that I think changed society a lot was the invention of the airplane in 1903. I think it changed society a lot because now people can travel anywhere they want. They are used in wars and even for a way to travel. The Wright brother achieved something that changed war and traveling. Thanks to the Wright brothers now we can travel anywhere we want. Airplanes keep changing and getting upgraded. This still affects war because now they can carry weapons and even bombs.
Traveling would take longer if airplanes weren’t made. We would have to go in a boat and it would take day to get to anywhere we want. War would be taking place mostly on land and on the ocean. Battleships would take longer to get to the other side of the world, but now that the airplane has been made you can get there in hours.

  8. Penicillin was a very important invention of the twentieth century by Alexander Fleming. Penicillin was first discoverd in 1928 by Alexander Fleming when he came back from a trip and it had formed on food he had left out. This discovery changed the lives of millions when it was first mass produced in 1948. It helped thousands of diabetics worldwide. People could now live their lives to the fullest and maintain their health. Penicilin fights bacteria in the body and helps fight infections such as ear infections. Without this antibiotic people may have died from their infections of suffered even more.
John Baird invented a life changing invention in 1924. He broadcasted an image across a few feet of space, he called in a television. The television went on to be a life changer fo billions. It can influence, entertain, and give people hope. On his invention people can advetise for their bussness, play their shows, and watch movies. It brings people and families together and can help a kid going thorugh rough times. John Baird created his invention by using old, leftover, junk parts and cardboard boxes to create th firt television. The first televised images were constructed of 32 lines, today we have megapixels that make images as clear as when you really see them. John Baird may not be well know but everyone will always remember his invention.

  9. There have been many different technological advances in the world between the twentieth and the twenty-first century. This invention is capabale of great feats and of great destruction. The nuclear bomb has changed the world. The first bombs of nuclear proportion were built by the united states. These two bomb were under the code name as the Manatten project. The bombs were called Fat Boy and Skinny Man they were dropped on the country of Japan and ended WW2. After that countries like britian, russia, china were trieing to creat bombs and started the cold war. Russia was the most succesful at this and became a worry to the world do to the spread of comunisum. These bomb have been the worry for every county and for terrorism sence then.
Another invention that has changed the world sence the begining of this A.D. This invention wwas first used to creat great beauty then it turned evil. This invention was invented by the ancient chines. It was gunpowder it was first used to created and still does in fireworks. Then when the english came they saw it destructive power. They started to creat weapons that propelled and object at you with a high vellocity, so high it could kill you. This new weapon was called the gun. This invention has been a major part of the world, but with gunpowder it would have never been invented.

The twentieth century had many innovations made to how we live today in 2014. The best and more recent innovation is the cell phone. The first mobile phone came out in 1973 and was bigger than the size of a brick. The first mobile phone was almost two and a half pounds, offered half hour of time to talk on the phone, and took ten hours to recharge. Compared to 2014 where phones offer about eight hours to talk and fully recharge in an hour and a half; we’ve made it far with one invention that completely changed the way we live today to communicate with each other.

In 1838 a new form of transportation was introduced for trade. The steam train started a new, faster, and cheaper way to transport goods across an area. The rail road system was introduced about 100 years before the train and was used for horses to travel with cargo. The steam train was amazing for the time the engine ran off of steam and used many natural burning resources, as coal, wood, or oil. The idea of a train running off a burning resource was amazing. The technology grew until it reached what we have today. A steam train was originally used for goods and trade. Now we use trains not only to transport goods but people as well.

  11. The 20th and 21st centuries has been a canvas for many inventors and scientists to sculpt the world we live in. There have been thousands of inventions worthy of mentioning some of which include; the telephone, the car, the computer, and the television . These inventions are used by millions if not billions of people and the creators of these inventions should be thanked greatly. One invention that stands out to me is the airplane. Created by Wilbur and Orville Wright this contraption soars above the clouds to take travelers to and from a destination. The airplane is used by very important corporations everyday to haul valuable goods to a certain point where the item can benefit people. Without airplanes travel would be just a dream for some people, gas prices would rise because cars would be one of the only forms of transportation and the population would decrease.

Some people today never think of the inventions that they use everyday. Others never think of the inventions that are still yet to come that we will soon feel that we can’t live without. The type writer is in my opinion one of the most important inventions that we have today. This invention has been modified and made better to the point where there is a keyboard in almost every school. Without that invention there would probably be no computers and without computers our technology would be set back at least 4 years. The idea of typing sparked by the typewriter extended to personal computers and word processors in 1980. It is still a prominent use in India and will continue to be.

  12. One invention that is constantly overlooked is the television. Now when I talk about the television, I do not mean in the sense of the entertainment it brings millions of people around the world, I am referring to the way that it changed industry forever. Television revoltionized advertising, and the way it was presented to its audience. Previously, products and services could only be showed in still pictures, or over the radio, but now customers saw products in a whole new way. It was no longer about who had the best products, it was about who had the bests advertisements. It brought the rise of many different countries, and it created thousands of new advertising jobs. The television industry was so big, that like your favorite tv show, got a spin off.
One invention that changed the world forever was guns, but instead of helping in a positive way, it helped in a very negative way. Millions of peoples have lost their lives because of guns. Granted, people had always been killing each other, but now they were far more efficient. People were always looking for a better way to defeat their enemies, and in the arms race that has gone throughout history, guns were the next step. The problem is, people do not know when a gun is too powerful or too dangerous. The inventor of the gantling gun actually invented it so that when they saw how much devastation it caused, people would come to their senses, and just stop. Instead, they took it , and over time made it even more dangerous. Guns have changed the world, and had they never been invented, but the world probably would have been best unchanged.

In my opinion, a memorable invention of the 20th century was the website, YouTube. YouTube has helped everyone out dramatically. Talents can be discovered on there, boredom can be cured, and questions can be answered just by the click of a mouse. There are music videos, funny videos, informative videos, etc. There is a fair share of inappropriate or stupid and pointless videos but in the end it depends on who is behind the screen.
Additionally, the telephone was an important invention. It made communication a lot easier. It developed a lot throughout the years. It developed a lot! It has become phenomenon. Almost everybody has one. They are not only used for phone calls now, They can be used for texting, internet, games, and even more.

Inventions are used and made by many people as they look to bring success to that invention. One invention from the twentieth century that stands out the most in my mind is the invention of the radio. The radio connects to people as it can represent the mood a person is feeling or just for entertainment. When we are in a car there will be that one person who will ask to turn on the radio so that they will not feel bored while on a long trip. Adults when driving a car will put on the radio so that they don’t fall asleep or listen to a tune. The music of popular artists can be heard from just he click of a radio and making that artist feel exuberant for how popular there music has become. A radio can be found almost everywhere such as our phones of today (iPhones or Samsung galaxy smartphones), television such as in shows or music channels, cars, Pandora and I Heart Radio, etc.
An invention that changed history in any time period would be the printing press, which was invented in 1440 by Johannes Gutenberg. The printing press helped spread knowledge around the world leading to making more copies of books. For example, the printing press permitted wider access to the bible. The printing press allowed books, newspapers, and magazines to be produced at a rapid rate making it a good cause for earning money. As we all know, the printers of today are used with the usage of a computer and having printers sold at stores such as best buy. The printing press does not compare at all to size in today’s printers as it would be difficult to carry the printing press around but functioned really well. If the printing press was never invented then I don’t know if to this day still would copies be still coming out of a printer and being handed in for things such as school work or on the job.

  15. In my opinion I think the iphone should go down in history because it is the first phone to ever be used for just about everything. The iphone has an app for everything for banks, to search something up, or to play games. You can do anything with the iphone and it was the first thing to be used so you can connect to everything it is a revolutionary breakthrough in technology.
From a different era I think the discovery of steel making was something that changed the course of history because without steel we wouldn’t have weapons we could evolve into better weapons such as guns. If steel was never founded we probably wouldn’t be able to survive all we would have would be a rock on a stick that’s it. So I think steel was the best discovery ever because we couldn’t live without it.

  16. Many great things were invented and discovered in the 20th and the 21st centuries. One thing that should be remembered from the 20th and the 21st centuries is DNA identifications. DNA identification is a technique used by forensic scientists to identify people. DNA identification can be used for fingerprinting, sweat, and real cells. DNA is found in sweat, tissue, or anyone’s cell from any part of the body. Although DNA is not found in fingerprints, fingerprints are unique and no one has the same fingerprint and also with DNA. DNA fingerprinting and the beginnings of DNA identification were first found in 1984 by a geneticist named Alec Jeffreys. Although he was not trying to discover DNA identification he accidently discovered it after his experiment with inherited illnesses failed, he came across DNA fingerprints and that’s were it all began. DNA identification is used in law enforcement, missing people, mass genocides and terroristic events. With this technology we can know who committed a crime. For example, if a person was murdered and a murder weapon was found, then we would be able to take the fingerprints on the murder weapon and compare them with those of a person of interest and if they match then that person will be convicted. Also it helped in the attacks on September 11th, 2001. Scientist were able to match the bodies and parts to people with some DNA from home as in a toothbrush and DNA from the body. DNA identification was one of the biggest changes in the 20th and 21st centuries.
About 35,000 years ago in what is modern Germany, archeologists found something that changed the world forever. One of the first instruments ever was the flute. The flute dates back about 35,000 years ago to our earliest ancestors. The artifact that was found was a bone with five holes that we believe was used to create music. Every minute of the day someone is listening to music. Music provides many things for most people. Music provides people with an escape from the world. It can relax us or it can pump us for game or competition. Music is also contributes to the economy. Music is multi-billion dollar businesses because we sell songs, albums, and collections and the more people buy them the more money we make. Music also provides people with jobs, careers, and hobbies. If it weren’t for this ancient discovery where would we be? It shapes our identities and our influences.

  17. Throughout out our history man inventors and scientist make these magnificent inventions that we never think about it. such as cars, planes, computers, flying cars, tablets, labtops, etc. with all these inventions that we have today makes our life much easier as we know. The one that always caught my eyes are the tablets. With the tablets we can watch videos, play games, read books, go on the Internet we can do almost anything with it. Many people use tablets either in school, work, or college and it helps us. We can download books in out tablets and we can take notes on it too. With the tablets it's changed every bodies life today and the tablets will go more advance and we will see what will they do next with tablets.
When the next century comes up we won't be here but people will talk about the tablets and it will be more advance them the ones we have today. The tablet is a sign of the future and telling us to move forward and think about the future technophiles that are coming up soon for everybody.

  18. An invention that changed history in a good way I think was electronics. For example, phones, computers, and even iPad’s. It’s not always the best thing to be on all the time but it’s good to have in case of emergencies and to keep in touch with close friends and relatives. Phones are good to have when walking around in case you get into trouble and you need to call your parent or 911. Computers are good to because you can use them to do schoolwork and to shop if you can’t get out. You can also use a computer to find out news and things that are going on in the world.
Back in the days there weren’t many things that were invented but one thing was the rock. The rock wasn’t the name on the invention but basically they would use a rock and grave in a message and send them back and forth when they needed to talk to someone. Compared to now we all use computers, phones and even ipads to communicate never would we use a rock to write a message and have it sent. The rock that they had to use wasn’t even a very good invention because sometimes the rock would never get delivered to the other person.

One difference between the 20th and the 21st century that should be remembered was when colored people gained rights. African Americans have been fighting for their rights for a while before they finally achieved their goal. They were enslaved, they were discriminated, and they were highly mistreated. This was one of the most highly noted differences between the 20th and 21st century. So the civil rights movement was an event that has to be, and will be remembered forever.

An invention that has changed history was the invention of the Flyer, made by the Wright brothers. This invention, although has been modified and improved over the years, it is still used in everyday life. The Wright brothers made the first successful airplane, it was first saw in the air in Kitty Hawk, after this invention hit the news, it was an instant excitement for the media. Today, the airplane is used for the transportation of animals, people, and trade goods. Without it, we would not be where we are today as a species.

There have been many changes in both the twentieth and the twenty- first century that have brought many advances and improvements among human society. The one that I think is the one that has a huge impact, especially on the current generation is the creation of YouTube, the online sharing community of videos. This has greatly impacted society. With YouTube people can up load their own advancements, discovers, lessons, and teachings online for other people to watch, and its for free! Another great part about YouTube is that it is easy to access with a device capable of using the Internet. YouTube has impacted my life because it allows me to learn new things anywhere I have access to the Internet. For example, most of the time when I’m doing math homework I get confused and I don’t have a teacher or someone who understands the subject available to help me. When this happens, I can go to YouTube and type in what particular section of math I’m working on, and I can get a lesson right then and there on what I’m learning about, and use that to finish my homework. YouTube defiantly has changed my life and many others.
Another huge change during a different era was the railroad system during the Industrial Revolution. During this time, countries that were starting to industrialize were being introduced to things that were making their lives much easier, such as the railroad. Keep in mind that in that time it was hard to get from one place to another. Most people got around by animals, such as horses or mules, or they walked. The railroad system brought a whole new meaning to transportation because it allowed people to move back and forth from different places without having to take breaks to tend to their animals. It also allowed them to transport more stuff at once. Just think of what society would be if we didn’t have the railroad in our lives.

  21. An invention that can be considered as a very important one in our time period is the music player. Music players allow us to listen to what we want to listen rather than those that are annoying to you or music that really just isnt your type at all. Music players allow you to select any song of your choice and can change any time that you basically want. It allows you to listen to music wherever you go. This was one big invention due to the fact that it changed people's way of living whether it would be in the car or in the house. It gave people entertainment that they would enjoy anytime. It was rather simple to listen to whatever you wanted to listen to rather than listening to stuff that does not interest you at all. It gave people something to listen to if you are feeling sometime of emotion like happiness, anger, or sadness. It changed the world.

  22. In the twentieth and twenty-first century, many changes and inventions were made. In my opinion, the Civil Rights Act was something very significant to our lives now. The Civil Rights Act enforced the end of segregation throughout all United States. If that act was not passed, the Unites States would have continued to be segregated like before. Our people would be separated by color and treated unfairly. We wouldn't be the United States we have now if it weren't for Martin Luther King Jr.
I believe that the invention of the basketball in 1891 by James Naismith was a very important invention. The basketball creates a very popular sport around the world. It plays a huge role in our culture. It's also the favorite sport of many adolescents in the United States including mine. Basketball the game also unveiled many talents such like Michael Jordan's or Lebron James'.

  23. In the past century so far, a great change that I have heard been issued about was pollution and global warming. This topic is very common, but a huge problem! I recently just watched a video on a speech of a scientist explaining how terrible pollution has gotten. The ice caps in the freezing regions are melting rapidly, proving that global warming has increased. This complication has affected people and animals also. For example, polar bears clearly need the ice burgs in order to live. They pounced on them when they need to rest from swimming or when they are trying to catch a seal to consume. But, unfortunately several polar bears have died from starvation or have drowned.
There were so many great inventors during the Industrial Revolution, all of them contributing excellent inventions. One of them was a man named George Eastman. This man opened Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company. Eastman also attended a photography company in the month of April in 1880. He and his partner who was an inventor, William Hall Walker, had provided ways to make a camera less bulky, heavy nor expensive. The outcome of that idea was the Kodak camera. Now a days, the Kodak is a very popular brand name for cameras. Professional photographers use them also, due to the great characteristics of it. I also own one myself since I have a passion for photography. His invention that had begun during the Industrial Revolution will probably stay for several more years like it already has.
