Blog 15 - Free Write

DUE TUESDAY FEB. 12, 2013
For this particular blog response, you have the freedom to write anything you'd like, so long as you make it a multi-paragraph, creative and original post. The piece you choose can be fiction or non-fiction, depending on your preferences or particular talents. Have fun! Go nuts!

  1. Playing guitar is a fun and relaxing hobby. A lot of people play the guitar for the attention and to tell people how they play. My reasoning is very different from theirs. My father played guitar most of his life, and he has passed the torch to me. My taste of music and ways of learning guitar are very much like my dad. I have been playing guitar for near two years now, and I practice for hours at a time on my own. I am never told by my father to go practice, I simply enjoy doing it and it is a real stress reliever. My playing has many inspirations and origins that it comes from.
My favorite music artist is Stevie Ray Vaughan. I have been listening to him for years now. My father first thought that it was a phase but I never stopped listening to him. His inspirations to playing are from the same sources that mine are. These inspirations are people such as Buddy Guy, Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix and Albert, Freddy and B.B. King. All attributes of playing Texas blues style guitar come from players like those guys. There are also ways to make the guitar itself sound like Stevie Ray Vaughan or Jimi Hendrix. I prefer to sound like Stevie because he is my favorite artist. Ways to get this sound mainly rely on the effects that you use. The best effect for me is an Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9. This effect (which comes in the form of a pedal that toggles on or off) gives a very large sound and literally makes your guitar scream. Finally, I hope someday to play in a talent show of sorts in the school to display my talent.

  2. For me, sports are a huge part of my life. I have enjoyed playing and watching sports since I was a little kid. Now that our basketball season at DHS is coming to an end, I am looking forward to softball season. However, I do not wish basketball was ending. The season seemed to go by so fast. I can’t believe that GMC’s and states are just around the corner. In fact, we have a game tomorrow against Metuchen. Last time we matched up against them was in the beginning of January. We lost by about eleven points. However, I believe our team has prospered since then, and we will be more prepared this time around. I strongly believe that we are capable and will win and get the comeback win against Metuchen tomorrow. However, they have the home court advantage tomorrow, but I still think we can win.

As for softball, I am fairly nervous. I am going to try out for varsity, and if I make it, I will have big shoes to fill from the seniors that have left from last year. Softball is one of my stronger sports, however, and I enjoy it more than any other sport. Ever since I was young, I was always swinging a bat or throwing a ball around. Even though I really wish basketball wasn’t ending, I know I have softball season to look forward to with all of my friends and teammates.

  3. My career as a student has always involved sports. Starting in Kindergarten where I played recreational sports with the town, up to where I am now in which I'm an active member of the Cross Country and the Basketball team. Sports have always been a huge part of my life and there's a lot of competition to earn spots on the team, especially in my grade. During the first semester I was on the Cross Country team. We competing regularly and at the end of the season we won our division title, not having lost a single meet to any of the other teams we matched up against. For our girls team, this has never happened before in Dunellen history.

Recently my basketball season ended. We started about a week after out cross country season ended and our practices were usually 1 and a half to 2 hours long, 6 days a week. Through rain, snow, and even hail storms, we were expected to be at the Faber elementary by three o'clock after school. Practices were usually tiring and seemed to last forever. Our coach made us condition at least once a week , and didn't take anything as a joke. All in all the practice really did pay off when it came to games. I'm looking forward to next year’s season.

  4. Wrestling is a very intense sport that I very much enjoyed back in my old high school, before I had come to Dunellen high I was part of the NPHS wrestling team. I had joined wrestling mainly for the benefits of the work outs at that time I was a pudgy child who went for runs tried getting on diets but nothing would ever work. I thought I had nothing to lose by joining the team, at first it the practices were hell they were the hardest work outs I have ever had in my life. I was at the point of almost breaking and just giving up, the thing about wrestling as much as it is physical it is also mental. Kids join the sport all of the time thinking it’s going to be a breeze but what they don’t realize is that wrestling is and intense sport that consists of dedication to go and show up every day for practice and not slack for the three or four hours of working out.

I was looking forward to joining the team when I had gotten the news that I would be attending Dunellen high school for the remainder of the year. But came to realize that I had been out of school too long and by now the team has only a few weeks until the season is done. I hope that it has not ended for me here; I plan to go into college and try out for the team several times even if the first time I don’t succeed.

  5. Volleyball is a great sport and one of my favorites that I enjoy playing. I started playing when I was in middle school. I joined volleyball because something in me told me to join. It wasn’t easy at first because the ball was hard and it took me some time to get adjusted to hitting the volleyball. At first I didn’t like it because it made my arm turn red but as I continue to keep on hitting the ball I got used to it. I learned that one of my weaknesses was spiking the ball but I was good in surfing it.

In one game, we were losing by a few points and we only had 5 minutes till the game was over and for some reason the girls couldn’t get it over the net. I was sitting on the bench waiting to be called out to play and finally my time came. My couch called me and I went running in exchanging for another player. I hit the ball as hard as I could and got it over. My couch was proud of me and so was I. Till this day I still enjoy playing volleyball.

  6. Drawing is a huge part of my life. I began ever since I was in second grade. My whole class was doing this book about a story and we had to write a story and draw some pictures. When I finished my story I began to draw and as I drew I began to like it and got very creative. Now I don’t draw as much but when I have free time I always grab my drawing pad a doodle for a while. Also, during the summer I started making some drawings card for people that were graduating.

This upcoming summer I’m going on a vacation, but my parents are not sure if they want to go to Disneyworld or Peru yet. But when we got I’m going to taken pictures and I’m going to draw them. I’m also, going to have fun but I want to draw because I’m an afraid if I don’t draw for a while I will loose my way of drawing. Also, I have joined art club and I’m finishing and begin new drawing each month or so in there. But most of all, I’m am spending more time drawing in home because even though I don’t have enough time I manage my time well and make my self time to draw.

  7. Everybody has that one memorable moment in their lives that they will cherish for their entire life. Whether it is something to do with family, friends, relationships, idols or anything of that nature we all have these memories. I personally have one memory always on my mind that will always stay with me; it was when I attended a concert of my two favorite music artists. Even though I had gone very recently just about a few months ago I feel as though this is the greatest thing I ever and will ever experience in my life. My cousin and I had bought tickets for a rap concert where the rap artists, Yelawolf and Rittz would be preforming. Yelawolf and Rittz are two southern rappers who although have a very small fan base compared to other artists are very talented and should be given a chance when others say they aren’t interested because whether it be their appearances or because they have never heard of them and never gave them a chance. Although, me and my cousin could barely wait any longer for the concert and when it did come time to go I would have never thought something so special would happen to me while there.

When we arrived at the place where the concert would take place our excitement grew we realized that we would finally get to see two of our favorite rappers live in person on a stage preforming for us and the crowd. Then as the curtains rolled up and the beat of the first song began, out from the side of the stage came Rittz, the first rapper to preform that night. Rittz as of now is my all-time favorite music artist and seeing him in person made it unreal that night. As Rittz came to an end of his performance he had returned to the back of the stage so Yelawolf could perform next. Then as Yelawolf is performing standing right next to me in the crowd enjoying the music just as any other fan would be, was Rittz. He had finished performing and joined the crowd to enjoy the rest of the show and just by my luck he had stood next to me. After realizing who it was I immediately introduced myself and told him how much of a big fan I am and how he is my favorite rapper. He in response was very thankful for my support and then we continued on having a conversation about his music and music in general too. After the night was over he had signed my t-shirt as a token of gratitude and I got to experience something not everybody can say they have.

  8. One of the biggest days in the world is Super Bowl Sunday, no matter what your take on football is your going to watch the Super Bowl. This game is the last game of the year and the last game most people will ever play because they're retiring. Even if you don't watch the game your family and friends throw big parties like it a holiday and you can enjoy your self there. The commercials are hilarious and better every year and I haven't seen anyone not laugh or not agree that these commercials make them laugh. Even though this day isn't a holiday in my eyes it is because its a time where people come together and enjoy themselves.

Every little kid who ever plays or played football wants to play football in the NFL and one percent of kids out of every state makes it. Making it to the Super Bowl would be a dream come true but the only way to make it is if you beat out 15 other teams in your division just to play in the Super Bowl. Some players have 10-15 year careers and still never make it to the Super Bowl but the ones who do charish it because it can be the only one they ever go to. I am one of those kids who want to make to the NFL but my size is holding me back but I know that I can do it I will never give up.

  9. The 2012-2013 school year has gone by pretty fast so far for me. There have been ups and downs a few grades I have not been exactly proud of, but other then that I'm enjoying freshman year. Most of the classes I'm taking have been easy I find spanish, choir, and understanding writing to be laid back classes that I fully understand and can let my guard down a little bit to relax. My other classes especially biology, and history have gotten me to be a little more on my toes and cautious about how I manage my time and what I need to focus. I hope that this will help me for next year now that I have gotten a feel for a few classes that may be even harder next year like chemistry.
Other then classes all events in this year have gone extremely fast. The cheer season has seemed to gone by before I could take it all in which was surprising since it was all new to me. Events like Christmas, the New Year, and the musical has seemed to go by without notice purpose. The musical is almost done and it feels like it has just started it doesnt seem like its going to come all together like every other year, but I hope it comes together soon and looks amazing like all the other years because its something that lasts for five days of the finished product. I still can not believe we are past half way through the year freshman year is going to be over before we all no it and we will be graduating soon enough.

  10. The best day of the year for my is my birthday. On my birthday i get many gifts and money. I also gather up with some family friends and have a little get together. I get so spend time with my family and catch up on what we've been up to. On my birthday my cousins from New York come to my birthday and i go to their birthdays too. Although we live far away from each other we catch up when ever we spend time together. most importantly, my mom makes me my favorite dish named, "Tortillas rellenas" they are tortillas with cheese and other Spanish recipes that i don't know the name too.

My birthday is a day for me to enjoy and to celebrate another year of being alive and well. I also happy to have my mother alive with me as well. When its your birthday in Spanish countries they treat you like a new born baby by giving you money, food, clothes, and other things you might have asked for. for your birthday. I love having having all this. Most times you have a party for your birthday and have friends and family over with traditional Spanish music and food to celebrate with.

  11. Now that I look back on my middle school days, I cant believe how fast the years have gone by. I still remember the first day of sixth grade and how nervous I was. It’s amazing to look back and realize how much change has took place in only three years; time really does fly. I can only imagine what could possibly happen these next three years in high school. High school is when we really find ourselves and we are molded in to young adults. This is when we begin to make very serious decisions that can affect our future like striving for higher education, going to college for sports or anything in that nature. But it all starts here, during our freshman year. Everything for the next four years is recorded and when the time comes to apply for colleges, they will be looking at our record to see what we have accomplished during those four years of high school.

Even though it is important to take high school seriously, it is very important to have fun and really enjoy these next few years. My Dad told me to really enjoy my high school years and just have fun because these are years that cannot be replaced. This is the time when we should try new things, experimenting with different things we are not used to like going out for sports and participating in school clubs. This will only add to your high school experience and when you look back when you are older, you can smile, remembering all those great moments.

  12. ¶Society has a role on everybody, no matter what. Everyone who is alive right this second has a role in society and has actions, based on others. My personal opinion on today’s society is that it needs major improvement. I am a blogger on Tumblr. I have a blog mainly about the beauty of society in the mid-1900s. I know for a fact, things were not perfect, but most things lay peacefully in place. I reblog things such as concerts, everyday life, models, bands, Volkswagens, and all the factors of society. Now, I am not saying I would like to teleport back to 1950 to be a teenager in everyday life, but what I am saying is that I wish the essence of that time would come back.
¶In 1950, a thick woman, such as Marilyn Monroe was considered beautiful. Now, people aren’t considered beautiful unless they are 90 lbs., have slickedy-straight blonde hair and beautiful features. Though the beautiful features were in play back then, a beautiful woman could be anything. The idea of “thin equals beautiful” did not come into play until the mid-1960s.
¶In in the mid-1900s, kids were still into what we do daily in the world today, but one didn’t hear “yolo!” or “swag!” wherever they may roam. In the ‘70’s, phrases such as “groovy” or “far out” were heard. In the ‘50’s, slang such as “beefcake” or “beatnik” or “ball” was part of a teen’s everyday language. Today, kids are getting killed because of our daily phrases! To add to that, kids today are learning a lot from TV. In the ‘70’s, TV was a lot of shows, but not a lot were equivalent to “Jersey Shore,” “16 and Pregnant” or other programs on TV/MTV. These ways of life are taught through the media and celebrities today (yolo). Kids were watching dance shows, dramas, comedies, and other genres of TV then. Now, it’s all “reality” TV and “fist pumping”.
¶Finally, in the mid-1900s, all this modern technology didn’t exist, and kids went out to play and had social interaction. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love all these advances for the better. But some of these advances have their disadvantages, such as suicides and social life going down. In the mid-1900s, when all kids had was a Walkman and a record player for electronics, people had time to go out and play. Go out and join a club. A sport. Kids had time to do things and not sit around on a computer!
¶I would not like to go back to the mid-1900s and physically live there because I like rights. The audience of this post (more than likely) likes having rights. Women’s rights, civil rights, sexuality rights, all rights that fall into play post 1950s. Most people lacked many rights and some (but not all) still lack them today. In today’s world, many people have rights and use them to their full advantage. Since most rights were not in play in the mid-1900s, I would not like to physically travel back, yet I would like to have the everyday life of a person in the mid-1900s in 2013. If we were all driving around in T-Birds, in poodle skirts and leather jackets and having a coke over at the local diner, those are factors of life that would make me happy. All in all, if the ways of life of the 1950s-1980s were played in today’s life, I think the society might have a better look on life and I sure would be the happiest kid going.

  13. High school is definitely very challenging, but I am enjoying it much more then middle school. For me, middle school dragged on and was not very exciting. But now in high school I feel like there are many more opportunities and chances available. High school has allowed me to branch out and try new things which I'm really happy about. I look forward to the rest of this year and my next several years of high school, not really for the work but for the new activities and people that I will meet.
An example of how I've branched out is by joining tennis. I never played tennis before, until last summer when I decided it would be a good idea to get involved. At first I was nervous since I wasn't sure I'd know anyone, or how good I would be at tennis. But in the end it all worked out. I met many of the friends I talk to today from tennis, and it is also one of my favorite sports now, too. Although all the work that comes out of high school, playing tennis and getting to meet new people will always be exciting for me.

  14. "I could let these dream killers, kill my self esteem. Or use my arrogance as a steam to power my dreams." - Kanye West. I live by this quote to get me through the day. People don't like me because it makes me conceded; to me its like my protection. It protects me by give myself a sense pride. Because in life, they're going to be people tripping me, on my road to success. To me its more focusing on the positive, and kicking and stepping on those legs that trip you. Basically rise above.

Life lesson: " They will hate you, before they love you. " In my life, my closes friend and out town friends hated me before they liked. I took that as a chance to form a bond, because you get to know a person better, by fighting because usually they tell you whats going on, in their life. For example, if you judge someone before you met them, you don't know what they've been through you guys might be facing the same problems, and might now know it. Sooner or later you guys will become friends, because you found something in common, and have a heart to heart conversation. These are my two quotes, they can mean more than, my description. Everyone my take them in differently.

  15. I am very impressed with the way that the Greece mens national soccer team has been playing this year. I have no doubt that they will qualify for the 2014 World Cup and I believe that they will get very far. They currently have 10 total points with three wins and a draw which ties them for second in their group with Boznia Herzogovinia. Something else that really makes Greece standout is they are a very high ranking of 11th in the entire world when it comes to soccer. It is very important for them to qualify because this would be only the third time that Greece has qualified for the World Cup. Although they have struggled in the past Greece has had an excellent decade when it comes to soccer by winning the 2004 UEFA Cup and qualifying for the World Cup in 2010.

My favorite player on the Greece national team is left forward, Dimitris Salpingidis. In the past Salpingidis has been known to score clutch goals for Greece that will give them that win instead of a tie. At 31 years old he is not too old where he becomes irrelevant and he has played the game long enough to score clutch goals and make smart decisions. His only disadvantage is being 5'7 which can sometimes cause him to lose headers which can give the team opportunities to score. My second favorite player is the team captain Giorgios Karagounis who plays center midfielder. Karagounis is probably the most well known player due to the fact that he plays for the club Fulham in the Barclay's Premiere League which is one of the top soccer leagues for a player to participate in. Karagounis' only problem is that he is 35 and people do not know how many more years he has left and it is going to be a shame when he retires. However, Greece has obtained multiple midfielders and strikers under the age of 24 which will help out the team in the long run as they are the next generation of players for the team. I wish Greece the best of luck and hope that they get very far next year in the World Cup.

  16. Everyone has a dream. Some people dreams are to become football players, soccer players, cooks, artists, or arthors. There all great dreams to try to reach but my dream is to become the most known mechanic in the world. I want everyone one that has car problems to go to me. Thats my main dream, but in this dream i have a smaller dream. That is to have the fastest 1/4 drag car. I want my car to run 8 seconds flat down the track. I want people to know me as hard working and that recieved no ones help. This is my goal and i hope i accomplish this goal with my brother. If we accomplish this goal we'll be the happiest people alive.

But to accomplish this dream i have to work hard. If I don't work hard im not going to make it in life. Theres a saying that goes " you work hard to play hard".

  17. Being a high school is something new for all freshmen. We were expected to take on more responsibility and do harder work than last year. Many of us are unprepared for what we had in store for our classes. Taking honors classes has been one of the hardest things in my high school career as a freshman. There is an extreme amount of work and material that is needed to be known and done. I struggle to do homework and studying at times because of the amount of stress I face. I never really realized how important time management is. I've learned that my schoolwork need to come before anything else. High school is where everything counts; including grades, sports, test, quizzes, homework, etc. Being in high school is not what I expected from what I was told. There's more material, harder work, and higher expectations, yet I like it much more than middle school.
My freshman year so far has been quite a journey. I've been able to make new friends and memories. Though I might face many struggles and stress, I enjoy being a high school student. As I progress in my educational career, I plan to work harder and not procrastinate as much. Hopefully I don't have the same views on high school that i do now for next year.

  18. Coming into the high school, I had a mindset that seemed to be stuck in it's ways. I didn't believe much could change my mind or that I could possibly change my own mind. The biggest lesson learned of this school year was just the opposite. Almost nothing was what it seemed; this refers to the romanticized ideals of high school and even the alternate personalities of peers and students that were never revealed before. Going into September, I had an idea that high school would be very different in terms of people, events, social life and time management. Within the first week, my perspective did a 180. Even though it may be naïve to say, I believe high school is overrated. Rather than short, memorable school days I haven't experienced much more than long, stressful days. Part of this outlook could derive from my need to constantly worry and put in my fullest effort or from my pessimistic view on Freshman experiences so far. Hopefully, I can look back at this opinion senior year and laugh, questioning my young minded thoughts.

Almost halfway through the year, I can say that I am, however, excited to see what the future has to offer. Within the next four years many opportunities will arise and I can begin to see the layout of my final high school years and college years. I am eager to learn as much information possible and I am ready to achieve many different things academically, and socially. I am sure many things will come up in the future that I will not expect but, I am anxious to see where I am headed and where I will stand in four years. As a Freshman, much of the typical high school stresses are overwhelming at first but, this is definitely the perfect experience to prepare me for the rest of my life endeavors.

  19. Everybody has a specific interest that helps take their mind off of things going on in their life. The activity that I’m most interested in is dancing. The different aspects of this hobby help me express myself in a way like no other. I’m able to just do what I love without anything getting in the way. At first it was difficult to gain interest in this activity because of my trait of being shy. That didn’t hold me back. I kept on practicing over and over again until I got over my fear of being in front of an audience.

I enjoy my hobby of dancing, that not only do I take one specific class, I take several types. For instance, I attend a ballet, hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and tap class. These are all classes of different styles of dance. In addition to taking these classes, I am apart of the Academy of Dance Arts Competition Team. Therefore, I learn routines and enter dance competitions that take place all over the east coast. I never would have thought that I would enjoy performing on a large stage in front of hundreds of people, several times a year. What got me to the skill level that I’m at now are confidence and practice. If I never believed in myself, I wouldn’t be where I’m at with my dance career.

  20. Music. There are an unidentifiable amount of genres and styles, however that is part of the beauty of music. There could be words or a simple beat that creates the piece of music. To many, music is a way to release stress and forget their worries. Studies have shown that listening to music on headphones reduces stress and anxiety in hospital patients before and after surgery. This is just one example of how beneficial music can be to a person. In everyday life, many seek refuge in songs on their playlist in accordance to their mood. For example, an athlete would listen to upbeat songs that would get them prepared for the game they are about to play in. Overall, music is a versatile safe haven for anyone who seeks it.

If I could listen to music throughout the day continuously, I would. It is rare to find me without headphones in if I have free time. I've become accustomed to listening to music before I fall asleep and often find a song still playing when I wake up in the morning. I've connected with many people through the common interest of music many times. Although my music varies, I enjoy all of it. From bands to acoustic songs to pop and any other genre, it has a home within my songs. I couldn't imagine a life without music due to the fact of it's impact on my life.

  21. Middlesex, Metuchen, Timothy Christian, and soon to come Highland Park. This basketball season has definitely been a rough one, but that has brought our team closer. As an incoming freshman to this much respected team, the pressure is extremely high. The shoes to be filled from the previous seniors are so very big to fill but the freshmen are slowly learning to step up. The beginning of the year was definitely a learning experience for all the incoming freshmen but we accepted the challenge and worked extremely hard with each other, especially the seniors, and have definitely made progress. With states coming up, the entire team is being forced to take a drastic step up, I believe we’re ready.
This team has become a truly big part of my life not only on the court, but off it as well. They’re a family. Sports are proven to always bring people closer together; there’s a bond that grows between a group of people that spend hours a day together. Whether they life each other at first or not, it’s a place where relationships grow. Bad ends are mended and trust is built throughout the months of training and competition. I wouldn’t trade the relationship we’ve grown with each other for anything; I believe this is one of the best things to get out of a high school sport and I look forward to many more families to grow throughout my years in high school. A team isn’t just a team, it’s a family.

  22. With basketball season coming to a close, track season is rolling right around the corner. I am looking forward to this spring season because I believe that our girls’ team will be very successful. There are several very skilled girls remaining in the program, along with a big freshman group. Based on our cross country season, I know for a fact that our distance group will hold their own. After all, we went undefeated in our regular season and won our division. We did all of this with five freshman, and one of them had a severe case of Asthma. With the help of the points from our distance group, along with the points we will score from the upper class-men, our girls team should do very well this season.

On the other hand, the only thing that is making me doubt our upcoming season is the fact that we still do not have a coach. All the coaches from last year left Dunellen School District, leaving no one to take over. Even the assistant coaches found other jobs elsewhere. Now, it the middle of February, track season is less than a month away, and we still do not have a coach. There is no way we will be able to show off our skills this season without a coach to help us through. Hopefully before the end of February, there will be a track coach hired for Dunellen. Until then, I can only hope for the best.

  23. For this free write I decided to write about a show I just watched. Today, there was a show on called, “The Next Great Baker”. It sounds stupid, but it was intense. I had watched a lot of the show before in the last season. Today was the finale, and before the finale, they showed all of the episodes before like a marathon, and I was able to watch the whole season in one day. It was intense, and I felt really lazy. The next great baker is hosted by the famous Buddy Valastro, who owns the bakery in Hoboken called, “Carlos’ Bakery”. There were a large number of contestants and each episode one was eliminated each time.

In this season, the final three were all girls. One of the girls was a cheater as we found out. In the challenge that occurred in Vegas, in which the contestants had to make 400 cookies, 10 cakes, 10 pies, and 100 pastries in 8 hours, one of the bakers cheated. While the cookies were in the oven, she turned the ovens of the other contestants hotter and did not tell anyone. That is not fair to the baker who was eliminated and she had no idea. 25. It is still such a shocking feeling to say I am in high school. I knew walking into this place; it was the next chapter in my life. I remember in my previous years, being so excited to say that one day I am going to be officially a “high schooler.” Looking back, it has been a tremendous journey from my first day of school to now. I can already feel high school being such a great experience. For the most part, it should be for everyone. High school is such an important time for teenagers. This is where you might start to find yourself or what you may be interested in. You are exposed to so many different people. Your perspective on things might change or you may very well stay the same. High school also sets you up for the future. You may want to go to college or even right to work after school, but either way there are all different high schools to help you. Education is here to help us build a future and let us succeed to be the best that we can be.
Personally, I love high school so far and we are just halfway through it. Although the work is sometimes overwhelming it is just to help us in the near future. The transition from middle to high school is actually a really big gap. Nothing against the teachers in the middle school but I know I am not the only one who feels this way. We do not feel fully prepared but it is just a bump in the road. We can all overcome it and hopefully have a good rest of the school year.

  26. The best day of the year for me is when school ends and i get to go to my country Peru. This is the best part of the year for me, its the time i get to see my family and my old friends. I go to Peru almost every year , either alone or with my parents. Everytime i go there i feel so happy, i feel like a could do anything, i feel free. When i go there the first thing i do is see my family and go to my uncle's zoo ,and eat at his restaurant and start talking pictures and talk about life. Having to do that every summer and spend my time with the people i most love makes me feel really happy.

At the end of everything i know that someday i would go back and live there forever and never leave again. I will spend all my time helping the people i love and making better things were i live. I also think about doing a book about all my adventures in Peru and all the things i did , all the places i been to and the people i got to know better. In the future is my dream to make all these things come true and help people.

  27. The spring musical Damn Yankees is less than a month away. I feel the drama department is not ready to perform in front of a live audience. Usually the drama club is always rushing and stressing up to the opening performance. However, this year I’m more nervous than ever. The musical needs a set, dance numbers, vocals and acting. These components need to be perfected before we can perform in front of the town. This is what the entire musical needs improvement on overall.

For Damn Yankees I take part in the crew. I am a part of the costume department. We assist the actors with their costumes and accessories. We don’t seem to have anything done. No actors have any costumes prepared and I’m getting anxious for opening night. The costumes need to start working because our performance days are coming close and the costumes don’t seem to be getting done. I have never been this nervous for a musical in my three years of being a part of the musicals.

  29. My topic is volleyball. It is one and most favorite sport. Volleyball takes me back to 5th grade; I remember in 2007 when I used to live in Dominican Republic, my friends were in a volleyball team and they were always talking about it and acting so hyped. Then one day, they told me more about it and I was so interested that I asked my parents if I could join, they said "yes!" My first day wasn't the best because I was an amateur and most of my friends had done it for quite some time and they were advanced. Ever since that day I been a lover of volleyball. I watch volleyball, play volleyball, dream volleyball, everything is volleyball to me.

I always wanted to be in a team or a club but very few schools near my area don't have volleyball as a club or sport. At the beginning of the year, I tried to work something out with Mr. Ulrich and we tried to get approved for a volleyball club and I think the answer was no. It is my dream to get a club or a sport in this school until it happens. I might not the best volleyball player because I am still an amateur, but I try and every time I try I improve more and more. Hopefully, someday I will be really good and maybe get a career, or an opportunity to do something with volleyball in my life.

  30. Michael Jordan or Lebron James? Any one who plays or watches basketball knows what im talking about. Every time you turn on ESPN you hear is Lebron James better Michael Jordan. alot of kids and teens will say yes, but those people are dumb. Honestly Kobe is closer to Jordan then Lebron is. Lebron as one ring and kobe as like 5 and Jordan as six. Also Kobe and Jordan got choke in crunch time like Lebron did in the in the finals a couple of years ago.

Now people can say that rings dont matter because bill Russell as 11 rings but you know what bill Russell wasnt as talented as Jordan. Now rings aren't as everything but they play a factor in this argument. Also Lebron said not 1 not 2 not 3 not not 4 not 5 but 6 rings. and ill tell u want i dont think we will get it. Lastly NO ONE WILL ME MICHAEL JORDAN!!!!!

In that park there where about 6 soccer fields all with natural grass and prefect. When I got there I stretch and got ready for the game, the game was at 1:00 pm

When the game started I was pretty excited and was ready to win, as soon as the game started I felt kind of wierd I didn't feel like how I usually feel when my team wins the first half was bout half way in and Newark scores one goal as soon as that happen I tried harder the first half was about to finish and we just got to score one it's was 1:1 the second half started and we had the ball I gave a beautiful center to my team mate but he missed as Soon the other team got the ball they scored Newark scored 3 goals I'm about 5 min we got destroyed.
