Blog 23 - Create a Prompt

DUE Wednesday May 14, 2014
For this week's blog, write up a prompt that you think will be interesting for students to tackle. You need to write clear and specific instructions, include a question and several things to consider when answering your query. Your prompt should be about the length of the ones I generally give you. You can include a link to a video or image that you think would be appropriate with the question. Be creative and original - you may not use anyone else's idea, so browse through the posts above yours.

A minimum of 10 sentences (including guided questions for your topic).

  1. This week, class, you will be creating a prompt on how well you can create a prompt creating a prompt. You will be creating a prompt to prompt students to create a prompt by creating a prompt prompting the prompt create to create a prompt. There are many ways to create a prompt to make someone create a prompt, as this one, but be sure to include examples from past prompts on prompts prompting prompters to prompt a prompt. What prompt does one prompt to make a prompt? How does one prompt to make a prompt prompting someone to prompt? What should prompt someone to prompt prompting a prompt first? Be sure to include specific examples. Then, write a prompt prompting a prompter to prompt a prompt on how to prompt a prompt and prompt a prompter to prompt one for extra credit. Be sure to be specific. Give directions, prompting someone how to prompt a prompt prompting a prompt. But make sure not to use the little joke going around. I will have zero tolerance for it. Yes, Will Smith will smith. Yes, Smith will, Smith will. Will Smith? Smith will! Smith, will… will smith. Smith Smith Will Will. Will Will Smith Smith? Smith will! Smith will! It’s understanded already. Please, I wish no longer to deal with it. Good luck! This will be due September 38th, 2048

  2. Are sports more important or more valuable than school? I recently heard a statement from one of my family members, “Professional sports athletes make more than any one of us and in some cases do not have college degrees, in this country it’s probably better to dedicate our children to sports than to school, so they can be successful and rich and pull us out of this middle class.” Construct a response in which you develop your opinion on this statement. Do you agree? Do you disagree? Are they more important than school? Why? Why not? Are they more valuable than school? Why? Why not? Maybe this link below could help you develop your opinion.

But, sometimes these don’t always work out; maybe you want to be a FBI agent but were not able to pass the classes necessary to be an FBI agent. Do you have a backup plan if things don’t go your way? What I want you to do is make a plan what you want to do and how you are going to get it. Also, make a backup plan just in case your first job doesn’t work out. What will your second job be? Maybe you might use this plan in the future.

  7. It is believed by scientists that your brain could remain alive for the next few minutes after your heartbeat stopped or when you pass-away. Since blood couldn't circulate throughout the body any more, the brain is triggered to scramble for oxygen and nutrients in order to stay alive naturally. And by trying to obtain oxygen, it causes the brain activities to function. Because of that, it is believed by many people that "dead" people could obtain dreams for 7 minutes, about re-living their life all over again. In this case, if you're in those minutes after you just passed-away, what would you like to experience all over again? And what would you not want to experience ever again? Provide a brief appropriate experiences to support your ideas. And if you're not currently reviewing your life after death(you're still alive), how would you change your future so you would enjoy reliving it again? Give explanations and reasons on how you would edit your on coming future to be the way you would like to see.

There are many influences and many meanings behind everything in life; some can even come from cartoons. “I see now that the Circumstances of one’s birth is irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.” – Mewtwo, Pokemon The Movie 2000. Are we all put on this planet for greatness? Or is it what we do that defines ourselves and makes us stand out that determines who we are?
Do you think that everyone has a reason to be on this planet and it’s the choices they make gets them closer to that reason? Or do you believe that we are all born equal and what we do in life is what sets our path? Is life just a gift and some people actually appreciate it while others take it for granted? Use your response to think about what you are doing in life and how it will determine who you are right now or will be in the future.

Our environment has been damaged and polluted due to the exposure of harmful chemicals and human activities that go on around the world. For example, the ozone layer has been affected and it needs help to stop its problem. Many things in the world can be done to help our environment such as recycling, decreasing pollution, use less sources of transportation, etc. The more help received the better it is to live in a healthy world full of nature itself at its best condition possible. “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs but not every man’s greed” is a quote by Mahatma Gandhi. What do you think will exist in a world full of no more pollutants and the recovered ozone layer? What is your perspective on how we treat the environment as of today and from the past? At least a paragraph is required and the prompt is due June 15, 2015, include facts and information from any recent articles that can be found.

If you believe they are real, try and relate to past experiences if there are any. Include examples of why or why not you support the claim that there is such a thing as the supernatural. Think outside of the box for this assignment and research people’s past ghost experiences if you need inspiration or guidance with where you stand. If you think you know your opinion on this topic make sure to support it with details and examples. Minimum of two paragraphs. Be creative and don’t have the same examples anyone else used already!

Robert Hall once said “A friend should be one in whose understanding and virtue we can equally confide, and whose opinion we can value at once for its justness and its sincerity.” The quote states that friend is someone who understands you and give you help when you can no longer help yourself. It moments when you are in need or in trouble you realize who your true friends are, and how they manage to come to you and nurse back to life, and back to happiness. Have you ever had/ have a true friend? A friend who has helped you when you needed? One who was there when no one else was? One has taught you life lessons you shall never forget? Even though in life we come across friends who don’t have a good influence they still teach us something that sticks with us. In this prompt you will be writing about a friend who has heavily impacted your life, good or bad. Be sure to explain your story and what they did, how it affected you, and you looked at life before you met that person and how you look at life now.

As kids we dream and have fantasies of what we want to be when we grow up. Girls dream of being princesses and boys dream of being superheros such as Cinderella or Superman. As we get older we start to realize that there's no such thing as princesses and superheros, so we begin to think of realistic things we want to be when we grow up. Some of us say we want to be doctors or teachers, but then we become teenagers we begin to change our minds all over again and say we would like to be something else instead of a doctor or teacher. So my task for you is to write a brief 1-2 paragraph explanation of what you want to be when you're older. Tell why you want to be what you want to. What or who inspired you to want to do this in life. Once again write a brief 1-2 paragraph explantion.

  20. The world is filled with places to go, things to try, and people to meet. Most people don’t get to say that they have really traveled to a more broad variety of places. Think of a destination or destinations that you would like to one day visit or maybe move to. What place would you choose and why would you choose this destination to travel to? Give reasons why this place is the best place for you to be in aside from anywhere else. Consider what you would do there and how you would spend your time at this new destination. Include activities that you would partake in, new things you would try, or new sights you would see. Be sure to gather a fair amount of knowledge on the destination you have chosen so that you may construct the paragraphs. As usual, a minimum of 2 detailed paragraphs is required. Be creative in your responses and don’t choose the same destination as any other student.

There are many options for a person to choose to do in the future. Some want to be a detective, some want to be an entrepreneur. There are many different varieties of jobs to choose from. But nowadays, since we’re older, grades and time has stopped us from being able to accomplish these things. It’s sad but it is the truth. Think about it. If you could still become anything in the future, what would you be? Why would you do this job? Is there something stopping you from doing this? If so, what could’ve you done better in the past?

  23. In the new digital age, our elders are looked at as relics of the way things used to be. Most, if not all, have stories from back in the day, when they were in their prime. Our elders have stories about adventures, stories about their friends, stories of young love, or stories of mistakes, yet when they finally have someone to tell these stories to, nobody is there to listen. The assignment is to go to a grandparent or another family member and ask them for one of their stories. Write it down and share it with the class so finally these stories get told, and not just to one person, but to an entire group of people. This way the stories will live on and will not become a forgotten piece of history.
