For example, it took almost four years for Leonardo Da Vinci to paint the Mona Lisa, the most famous painting in the world. Today, it would take a graphic artist using a computer about five minutes to reproduce her. Howard Sparks, a well-known author of the 20th century, suggests that, "the art of our era is not art, but technology. Today, Rembrandt is painting automobiles; Shakespeare is writing research papers; Michaelangelo is designing more efficient bank lobbies."

Technology is an art because take video games are technology and art at the same time. Video games are technology but the game graphics are awesome. Take battlefield and call of duty there great games but the art in side were you shoot and everything is great. The art of the guns that show are identical. Video games are an art in totally.

As technology has advanced, there have also been new ways to reinvent art. People can now recreate famous art pieces within minutes. Technology has become art in a way. For example, video games are considered a type of art because they require graphics and sound/music. All Mario games have been getting better graphics and sound because of the new systems that keep coming out, like the WiiU. It is able to have a video output of up to 1080p and is even able to provide off-TV play. The games themselves are very entertaining and have an amazing art style as well as great music. It takes a lot of time to develop these games, but its worth in the end to see what masterpiece has been created.
ReplyDeleteTelevisions have also become a style of art. TVs today are colossal and have HD graphics, high quality sound, and tend to come with DVD/Blu-ray players. They even let you use YouTube and Netflix or Hulu Plus. With all these new features, watching TV has taken on a whole new meaning. Instead of just watching a show on a channel, you can watch a movie with a click of a button. It’s amazing how fast technology has advanced through the years. Now we can enjoy old things in a new way.

ReplyDeleteTechnology has advanced so much through out the years. Even though people wish we were much more advanced than what we are now, it is still magnificent how many of the new technology inventions are inspired by art. For example the new type of phones being developed, just like the Apple’s new IPhone 5s and like the Samsung Galaxy s4 are all designed to represent artistic features. Many of these phones compete to get the best artistic and clear pictures. In addition all the phone applications they have constructed to make these Photoshop apps or picture effects.
Furthermore, now a day’s computers are also considered to be art. With all their 3D platforms, video editing software’s and as well DJ applications as well. All these artistic platforms can now be put into one computer. Computers can help edit a picture, create beats for music, and construct video games. This is why computers are being considered art now because some people don’t even use sketchbooks anymore and use Art Inc. on computers are the so called paint. All in all technology has always represented art and are considered to be it as well.
How can those apps help art? Explain. Add details to your examples. Walk the reader through the process.

My view of art being technology is the simplicity and helpfulness of technology being introduced to the world of today. Technology has been a reliable source that can be found almost everywhere such as schools, homes, libraries, buildings, etc. Art should have a meaning for technology its just such a beauty to have technology when you need it. For example, our smart phones have become true art as they contain internet, apps to have fun with, and internet sites such as google, Facebook, and Twitter which weren’t available back than during the 80’s. New technology is being introduced to us almost everyday somewhere around the world. If it weren’t for the technology that we have today it would be a world with probably less jobs because a lot jobs require the use of technology.
Technology such as printers have became of great use to us as they allow us to print papers or documents stright from the computers. When homework comes into play a printer can sometimes be needed. Technology is a walk in the park to us because it is so easy to use in the present that we live in right now. We should thank the creators of who invented this art of technology with great simpathy. I’m sure everyone enjoys the usage of technology and that’s great because we should be using technology. Art is a fine work of art as is also technology around the world. Technology has transformed to us throughout the years and it will change even more in the near future.
Define the word "art" as you interpret it. Instead of listing all the apps, choose one and explain in detail why you think it should be considered art. How are FB and Twitter art, for example? Your second paragraph explains the usefulness of printers, but not how they themselves are art. Ease does not always equal art.

We are using technology to express our imagination, skill and creativity to write stories for all writing assignments. When we are printing a painting and such it also can be considered art. People also use technology to experiment with different tools. For example, when people upload a picture onto the computer, they can edit it. People are experimenting with sound by using technology to create music such as making remixes of songs and recording people singing. Technology has made us artists in some way which people don’t even realize.
Is technology itself art though? That is the question. You seem to suggest that technology makes art easier, but is the tv/game console/computer itself art? Instead of listing many examples in one paragraph, choose one and describe it in detail.

What color will it be? Building a car can be compared to sculpting and pottery. When making a bowl or doing a sculpture, these are questions artists ask and people building cars as well. There is also a lot of work that goes into the interior design as well such as the seating, carpet, radio and such. People try to make the car presentable so that people will buy them, just as artists do with their creations. Cars are a form of technology that can be presented as today’s art.

A computer generated painting may not be as meaningful, allusive, eye-capturing, it may not be as good as one that was hand-painted. Art navigates through the mind, and for artists, can’t wait to express itself for people to see. For some artists it is harder to express that feeling of artwork crowding inside their brains through the computer. Art is art and whether it is computer generated or not, it still invokes people’s creativity and with where the artist shall express that sort of talent they possess. So, I must not say that I require or acquire a certain way an artist shall express their creativity. Whatever way an artist chooses is a better way to express their talent, it does not matter as long as it captivates my attention, computer-generated or not. But art is art to me altogether whatever way you slice it.
Video games, websites, songs, it is all art that was transformed through a computer. The website I am posting this on includes art in the background and format. Video games are produced through technology and they’re art enforced. Songs are art, different vibes, textures, imaginary colors, all from technology that can enforce such emotion and compassion is such humans that listen to it. Can’t a non-computer generated painting and/or drawing create such emotions and compassion? Technology is art, art is technology. Just which computer generated or not; art can induce corresponding angles to the depths of its follower’s imaginations, is what art really is.
Your fist paragraph is a bit confusing. Maybe if you gave a specific example of what you are referring to - a piece of technology that you consider art. Instead of making a list of items that contain art, choose one per paragraph and argue in detail as to its association with art. I do agree that art and emotion are connected.

One of my favorite video games ever is The Walking Dead. It has great graphics, amazing storyline, details, characters, and plot. Technology can be art and art can be technology because The Walking Dead is a perfect example of beautiful artwork! In some scenes where it’s intense, the artwork captivates your focus and lets you feel like you formed a bond with the characters. An example of how technology is art is when you have something that is technological and it encircles your amazement. A great scene in The Walking Dead, is all of them. But, one of my favorite qualities about The Walking Dead is the graphics and thought put into the video game. In every scene of the game there are hidden things. Hidden details. The producers of the game took into consideration details and graphics.
My other favorite video game is The Last of Us which recently came out. It features infected people instead of zombies. The scenery, graphics, music, characters, plots, everything is different form The Walking Dead, but I still consider them both art. Not only that they are both made from technology, so that means I do feel technology is art. The Last of Us consists of beautiful artwork. Just like in The Walking Dead there are tiny details in the background the creators don’t make obvious. The way the artwork flows in The Last of Us is just stunning. One aspect of this game is the music. The music in this game plays a big part in how this game’s scenes venture out. In a scene where infected are chasing after the characters the music may become flamboyant and intense. Then in other subtle scenes beautiful orchestra music may be playing in the background. Everything in the Last of Us correlates. In both the games I have mentioned emotions mix in with creativity from the producers, to construct emotion and nirvana in players. That is why I find it art. That is how I find technology art.

When it comes to art, everyone has a different opinion on what it is and what falls in the category of “art”. Howard Sparks suggests, “the art of our era is not art but technology.” I both agree and disagree with this statement. I agree because most art is done with technology. For instance, most logos for companies are computer generated. People at companies just got on a computer and though of a design and easily created using helpful technology. Nowadays not many people take the time and effort to sit down and draw or paint a work of art on paper by hand, like Andy Warhol did with the Campbell’s soup can design. A lot of people, but not all, tend to design and create all forms of art by using various types of technology, such as on a computer. It makes it seem like there isn’t much actual art, depending on your definition of art, being created. It seems as though art is just technology now.
On the other hand I also believe that what people create on computers, and other forms of technology, is art that is incredible. For example, video games are art that is made and designed by technology. People create amazing graphics and designs that are well thought and beautifully developed. People them then use these designs and make full in-depth games with the best graphics and highest quality designs and art work. The art designs are phenomenal and jaw-dropping. Some could argue that doing it on a computer is cheap and is an easy way of doing it, but you still need to have skill. Other people can create such spectacular and gorgeous drawings and other art designs in other aspects of life as well. You could have all of the help and shortcuts in the world to help you draw, but you still need skill and artistic abilities to make a piece of art that looks amazing. I personally have little to no artistic skill and I could use all of the easy and “cheap” ways to draw on my computer, but I still would make a completely horrible drawing. So technology just helps art to be created, it is not the new art of our era.
In your first paragraph, explain if you think that the logos created with a computer are art. Why or why not? Describe a specific artistic design from a video game that you consider "jaw-dropping." It always helps to solidify your point with concrete examples - name of game, character design, setting.

Me personally I'm one who likes to draw and be creative but if technology can do the exact thing I just took countless our to create i will still approve it not because it was better than what I worked on but because it faster and took less time and still comes out as I would want it .
Remember that a paragraph needs to have a topic sentence, at least 5-8 sentences, and specific details. Give examples and reasons for your opinions. How are today's humans creative with technology? Be specific with names of artworks.

DeleteIn my opinion I feel that technology is making the great artists from back in the day look like idiots. I mean take for instance Vincent van Gogh's "starry night". It took him a few days to finish it, but with the new art applications and art software..it only takes you about 5 minutes. Technology changes everyday, and will one day change the way we live in the near future. For instance look at video games. All the color and animation is created by an artist.

Proofread. Careful with words like "idiot." You never actually answer the question of what is art and if technology is art. What about the program that creates the technology version of "The Starry Night" makes it art? What goes into it? Be specific and include explanations for your reasons. Give names of specific video games that you consider art and reasons why. What about their graphics, character design, sound mastery makes it art? Use art terms when talking about art. What programs on the iPhone are considered art? And why?

Personally, I do believe that technology is art. Technology has advanced an amazing amount throughout the past few years. The things you can do on the computer and other sources of technology are amazing! You can express many different forms of art through technology. Writing, pictures, and music are just a couple of examples that you can do with the power of technology.
Pictures on the internet can be art. You can paint and make graphic designs and share it with the world at an instant! Art is basically at automatic part of technology nowadays. This is a great thing for today’s world and makes everything easier.
Re-read the directions. Define what you mean by art? What does art mean to you? Just because we use technology to make art, does it make the technology itself art? For each paragraph, you were supposed to choose a piece of technology to use as an example and describe in detail why you do or do not consider it art. Lacking specific detail. Remember, a paragraph is a minimum of 5-8 complete sentences.

It takes time to get everything situated and running in working order so the computer can work properly. It takes a lot of thinking to come up with all the technology we have today, like an iPhone took a while to create when computers came out. You can also create art in like a few minutes with computers; there are no long hours of painting and thinking of ideas. You can instantly make a masterpiece with a few little taps of a button. Then there are phones, you can put like a skin on it to protect it and make your phone more artistic like. Be specific and give details regarding your reasons. The stickers and decorations are not technology. Just because you decorate a piece of technology, does that make the technology art or the thing you use as decoration? I'm not sure what you mean. Never list - choose 2 items to discuss in detail, as per the instructions on the blog. It is better for your argument to have two detailed examples with specific reasons than a list of non-explained items.

In many different ways I do believe that technology is art. First of all, technology is art because art work comes in many different forms and fashions. Art isn’t just drawings, paintings, and sculptures. Art work is any form of creativity and cleverness that starts off as a dream, but then travels, from your imagination, to the real world. That is exactly what technology is. Technology didn’t always exist. It had to be created, and it started as a dream, and seems impossible to make, but now and days, anything is possible, and at some point, someone’s dream of technology came true.For example, computers. Before computers where invented as a branch off of technology, people have go to the library and to the book store in order to find out any information about anything that they wanted to know. But now that we have computers people can look up anything they want to on a search engine and find out any information about anything that they want to find out instantly, without getting up, and looking for information at a library or a book store.
Another way that proves that technology is a type of art is that technology comes in different forms. There are different types of technology that does different things that helps make everyday life more enjoyable. For example, cells phones are an example of technology. But not all cells phones are the same. There are big cell phones, small cell phones, different colored cell phones, different phones do different things, and people can use their cell phones to do different things, and isn’t that what artwork is about. Creating something to comes in different forms and fashions that just keeps evolving by people over and over again is technology. Technology defiantly a form of art work.

Understanding writing
I think that technology is not art for many different reasons. Firstly, my definition of art is drawing, and splashing paint all over the place. Not a computer system to make art . I think that technology is how art is made, but not art itself. Art is a way to express yourself, and you can tell a lot about a person based on their artistic abilities, not based on the technology they have. Technology is the proces to making art, but i wouldnt consider a laptop, or a phone an art.
Also, I feel that technology is an easy way of creating art, but its not art itself. Art should be about how you express yourself,not electronics. I strongly disagree that technology is considered an art , but it is used to make art. Technology is a very great thing but art comes from your heart not from a computer. This is why I think technology is not considered an art.
Are only drawing and splashing paint art? Can you be more specific about what makes those activities art in your mind? The second paragraph repeats a lot of the first. Try to find another reason why technology is not art.

Some people could agree with me or could argue with me on my view of the connection between technology and art. Some people look at the internals of a computer, laptop, or phone as art, and I’m one of those people.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the hardware, the internals, the piece of technology itself is an art. Maybe I’m one of the very few people who think that because I’m a tech nerd, but that’s beyond the point. The circuitry, the wiring, the pixel layout of different screens from phones, televisions, computers it’s all different. Every manufacturer has a different style for design, material, quality, and the style of the artist. Every artist has a style they love to use but can’t make the same masterpiece over and over again. That is what technology is doing. It looks similar enough to show the main design style, but different enough to tell what product is what.
Need to explain your examples. You used the computer in the first paragraph. Why do you consider it art? What does art mean to you? How does a computer fit that category? (You explain this in the second paragraph when it really should be a part of the fist). You need two seperate examples of technology as art. Look at the prompt again.

As does art, art is a painting, poem, song, book, skill, or drawing. Different and unique people view art and technology in different and even more unique ways. Although, not all art is technology, art dates back to before the first forms of writing and before history. Of course there were no forms of technology then which means that not all art is technological.
Technology is used today by mostly everyone who can afford it. While some of this technology is already a form of art, art can be made by using technology. For example, I can go on a modern day laptop and paint color or draw which is obviously art. With that technology, which is already a diverse range of human activity and creation we can make the more common more creative types of art.
Define what art means to you. Remember, a paragraph is only complete when it is at least 5-8 sentences and explains your point in detail. You lack examples, specific details, and explanations. Re-read the prompt - you needed to use 2 pieces of art (technology) to argue your point. You mention using Paint on a laptop. Explain how the technology of the program is art? Or is it just that it helps make art? Does that make the technology itself art? Do you see the difference?

Usually artists put their all while trying to create a great piece of art. All those that work on technology make sure they do a good job in order for them to be able to sell all their items. People who work on phones, computers, or televisions put all their intelligence and skills into their work in order to make money. Art takes a lot of skill. If one has done a great job, Their piece of work gets popular. Its the same exact thing with technology.

Artists have to learn before they can make their own creations. There is always that one person or small group of people that always come up with the entire concept of electronics. Artists always have to come up with the concept before making what they really want to make. Not only does it take skill but it takes intelligence to create anything that is considered art. People who write stories are considered artists, they are also very intelligent.
What does art mean to you? Define it first before discussing. Make sure to use a specific piece of technological art to explain your point in each paragraph. Lacking details. Choose an electronic for each paragraph and describe why you think it's a piece of art.

Both which are used in crafting a video game. Video games are technology and the whole thing of video games is the art. Video games contain graphics that people create as art through the expression of ideas or a characteristic of a person, such as a villain or a hero. The graphics in the games have artistic abilities like shapes and the figures or the characters. The characters throughout the video games have traits, feelings, and actions which are made by artists and their technology.

Such as, the Grand Canyon, The Washington Monument and many other landmarks that are known as art. The images taken by the digital cameras can be edited by photo shopping which is a form of art. Since art is such a big part in today’s society, cameras are a great way to save images and keep them forever that people may interperate as art. Cameras are a great tool for people to use if they are into since the camera is such a useful tool to capture the image of some art work.

We have created the Renaissance of technology and innovation in all aspects of science. However, we have all but abandoned the canvas, the ancient art of the brushstroke, practiced, now, by few. Nowadays, the artist is on a computer program, his brush replaced by the mouse, his inspiration no longer a landscape, but Google Images. I do not consider these people artists. An artist is someone who can dig deep within themselves, pick up a brush, and paint a masterpiece, conceived from the imagination.
However, I do consider technology, and its creators, as art and artists. When type away your English report, you don’t give a second thought to the wonders going on inside your computer, the absolute genius it took to design this masterpiece. In all meanings, it is art. The painter had a vision of his creation in his mind, and then he set about making it a reality. Rather than a brush, paint, and a canvas, he used scraps, wires, metal, and glass to create this wonder. And how far the computer, and other technologies, have come! Once you’re done reading this, look up a picture of the first model of a computer, then look at one at home, the school, or in the library. Like a masterpiece should, other artists can, and should mimic and improve and artists original idea, filling the world with marvelous creations!
Nice intro, but define what art means to you. Make sure to use an example of a true artist (name a piece of art or an artist specifically and tell me what makes them an artist and what is lacking in technology). Limit the use of exclamations - use your words to convey the emotion.

ReplyDeleteFor example I use a common app named ifunny. One of the recent featured pictures was a hyper-realistic drawing of a dollar bill. That is definitely a piece of art but it is not technology. Their are many modern drawings and paintings that are famous now so who is to say that is not todays art. Their are many art forms that can be labeled todays art, but technology can't just take the title of today's art.
Choppy sentences - combine the short sentences to create a better flow in your writing. Define what art means to you. Your argument seems disjointed - do you think technology is art? It is unclear. Also, you need solid and specific examples in each paragraph. So, whether you are for or against evaluating technology as art, give me a piece of technology (name is specifically) and analyze the qualities of it, describe it, and tell me what about it is or is not art.
DeleteTechnology is today’s art. So much has been done with it in the past decade alone, and there is so much more than can be done with it. The possibilities of technology are limitless and the only thing that is holding it back is people. The technology can be made, it is just that someone has to go out and make it. That is where the artistry comes in. Someone is designing something from scratch, something that is like nothing else before it. That piece of technology can be shared with anyone, but it was still made by that one person with a dream.

Most would consider music an artform, and in this case the computer is the instrument. Every song is different, even though sometimes it is hard to tell, and all of it is done through technology. Each song reflects the person who made it. They are able to express themselves through this technology.
Define what art means to you. Need two specific examples of art - one in each paragraph. The discussion of dubstep is a great example, but describe a bit about the process - how does it use technology? How is it a reflection of the artist? Think of one for paragraph 1.

ReplyDeleteI believe that art created by technology is indeed art. Although it isn’t created by hand it's still art. I think this because technologically created art is still art. For example, on the news a while back there was an artist. He wasn't a regular artist he created art on an ipad. He was timed and could create a mona lisa painting in 5 minutes. He uses his hand to create the art but is allowed to go back if a mistake is made and it wouldn't ruin his art work. Some people may say it isn't art but i think it is. He still has to use his skills to create it.
I also believe technology can be art because photography. To take beautiful picture you need a camera. Cameras are technology, and the pictures they take can be framed and made into art. Also poetry is a form of art, you can type poems on the computer and print them out on a printer. As you can see art can be created by technology, even though it seems like it isn't it can be.
A bit confusing - the question was whether technology itself can be art, not whether art created with technology is art. Repetative (look at sentence one and three). When giving an example, you need names and specific details. Who is the iPad artist? How does he make his art? Why do you consider it art? What qualities of art does it have? Instead of discussing both poetry and photography in paragraph 2, focus on one and discuss it in detail. How do cameras work that is artistic? Be specific. Just because you use a computer to type a poem, does that make the technology art? (Is pencil art or the drawing that it makes?)

ReplyDeleteTo me, I think that technology can be considered art. Anything that a person makes and sees it as a beautiful thing should be catagorized as art. Although when I think of art, I do think of paper and paint and statues made out of clay, not all of art has to be drawn or sculpted. With technology advancing everyday, many different things are going to be considered art. And different softwares will allow people to be able to make different types of art.
Designing something on a computer can be considered art. Someone could take photos and photoshop a lot together and make it be able to look like a professional painting.Wouldn't that be considered art, a picture with designs on it, with patters and colors and everything a painting needs. With todays technology, we are able to create many things with visual affects software and the creativity within us. So yes, technology can be catagorized as art.
Need an example of technology as art in EACH paragraph - you only have one in the second. Explain what makes photoshop, the program, art in detail. How does it work? What qualities of art does it have? Same for whatever example you choose for the first paragraph.

ReplyDeleteTodays art is different from back in the days. Back then art would be something made from paint or a paint brush, but now its all about photo editing and new things. Photo editing is considered art in todays world because its a photo that has vivid colors and has meaning to it. People pose for pictures and then edit them to make it look better. That is considered art for most people.
Another way to see how the way art is seen today differently is that we look at art as being new technology. A new model of a car is art. An even better example is a new iPhone being released. People look at this and call it art because never before have they seen technology work the way an iPhone works. So to them its art. The way we see art in technology is quit different then how we say it back then.
What does art mean to you? Give definition. Explain your two examples a bit more. In the second paragraph, instead of listing examples, choose one of them and explain in detail. What makes an iPhone art? What qualities of art does it have? Be specific. How does it work that makes it artistic?

DeletePeople have different opnions on whether art is technology. I believe that art is technology. For example, architecture involves art. Architectures plan out the heights, size, shape, colors, depth, width, etc. of a building. Any kind of computer-like technology is used to plan out the structure of a building. Art contains measurements, shapes and more also! So in this case, art can be technology. In art class, I've learned art terms that'll come in handy for the year. Those terms were shape, colors, etc. So, obviously, art can be technology.

I mean just think about it, a world without technology can affect a human’s life because technology is required in many jobs such as banks, office workers, and accountants. ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, technology is art because there’s so many things that you can do with technology. For example, you can photo chop photos and edit them, like the color. You can also add different effects to pictures. There are so many apps for I-Pods, I-pads, and I-phones for camera effects. Technology is so entertaining and it’s used in many ways, from editing photos to sending text messages.
Another example is, with technology you can take videos. You can video chat and make multiple videos. You can also edit videos, like take certain things out or add things. For example, when making a YouTube video you can edit it by adding voice overs and adding pictures if you’d like. With videos you can also edit the color just like how you can edit the color for photos.
I think that the art technology is stupid. Art is something that takes time to do and work on. Drawing something in five minutes on the computer isn't art! The computer is the one drawing it! Real art is something you draw or paint from your hands. There are so many people in the world who are really talented artists, and then there are the people who do everything on the computer and are getting so much credit for nothing! Doing art on the computer are for lazy people you don't have talent. People who do have talent take time to do an art piece and they work hard, and it takes time to make! In conclusion, art technology is not real art.

I think that art has to be made by hand and with different supplies like pain, paper, pencils, colors, etc. Technology is a different kind of creation because it’s made with different types of materials. It’s also made by machines and a little bit of human hand. Art has to be made by people inspired by something or someone. A real piece of art is made by people or humans not by machines. An example of a good piece of art is the Monalissa. It was made by someone not by something. Art and technology is not the same thing!
My view that today's art is technology is true. I believe it is true because most of the art today is basically new machines people create everyday. People call this art because it is a masterpiece. The art back when Michelangelo lived was considered a masterpiece the would hire them to create new and different art piece. In the day today create new machines and robotic creations are considered art.

All the paintings I've seen throughout my years of school were paintings of Leonardo Da Vinci and other older paintings. Today in the days I don't see many artist I only hear of architectures. Architecture is a kind of art but I think of art mostly like those who take their time to paint a picture. This is what I think of how today's art is technology.
