If we are afraid to reveal our lack of knowledge we will not be able to learn. In order to make progress we must admit where we are now. Such an admission of ignorance is not easy. As Thoreau says, “How can we remember our ignorance which our growth requires, when we are using our knowledge all the time?"
Assignment:
Does the present system of education encourage us to admit our lack of knowledge, or is there too much pressure to demonstrate the acquisition of knowledge? Plan your response, and then write a two paragraph response (without repeating anyone else's points). You may also take the cartoon into your evaluation and discuss what it's trying to convey about the education system as the artist perceives it.
The education system has its ups and downs just like anything else. Now I think the education system is good more bad. I only see two or three major flaws. The first is the school days are two long. Most kids have trouble focus in every class though out the way because its hard learn every second of the day. The second thing is a lot of stuff you have to do for homework or essays have to be done on the computer or online. This causes a lot of problems because not everyone has computers or online accesses.
ReplyDeleteAlthough there are flaws there is a lot good thing two. The first major good thing is summer. Oh boy do I love summer it give everybody a chance to unwind and relax from all the stress school causes. The second major thing is we have a chance to get education. For example, no one likes going to school everyday but in other countries kids don’t get an opportunity to learn like we do. We are all blessed to have a chance to learn because a lot of other people don’t.
In our present system of education, there is too much pressure to show what we really know and understand. In order to be accepted, people must have a high GPA and good test grades. This is the only way of getting into a good college and later finding a job. Unfortunately, not everyone can be naturally brilliant, so this leads to people lying about what they know and not fully comprehending what they are learning about. This eventually comes back to haunt them because their quiz and test grades will then be lowered. Admitting your lack of knowledge is a way of showing your weaknesses and being judged by others.
ReplyDeleteThis is not the way things should be. People should be able to admit their lack of knowledge without feeling judged. As shown in the picture above, when it comes to testing many people are at a disadvantage. On SATs, midterms, and finals, certain skills are focused on more. But if someone is not that great with their grammar, they already have a lower grade then someone who is proficient with their writing. If people could openly admit their lack of knowledge it would give them a chance to learn more, but there is too much pressure to do something like that.
I like your points. I think that the school system should be changed to benefit all different learning strategies, and support the creativity of each student.
DeleteSweet paragraph, kido! I liked your opinions! Keep up the nice writing!
DeleteThe school and state are extremely unfair to students. They only focus on one ability that not everyone will excel in. Although one person may find something easy, like the monkey would to the tree, others like the elephant know climbing the tree is possible it’s just out of reach. The college school system or educational institutes like Vo Tech are better for a student development and learning experience. These schools know that every student is different and may not be great when it comes to academics, but be special in a whole different field.
ReplyDeleteThese schools let students explore their interests and creativity in many different ways. There are many choices from baking to workshop to just learning on how you do every day things like taxes for later in life lessons. The lessons taught in college are great to because by this point you are most likely focused on one thing, your dream job. You mostly focus on classes that will help you excel in the area you want to be in, but you also take core classes like simple math and history so that you are prepared to take on any job if you cannot get into work right after college.
Our present system of education most definitely helps us to admit our lack of knowledge. Students in school are challenged each and every day in order to improve their knowledge, but sometimes it comes to a point where they say the challenge is too difficult. Once a student is given an exam or task to complete, they may feel as if it were too hard to accomplish. Therefore, an example of us admitting to our lack of knowledge is presented. People in our society tend to have a low level of confidence. This then means that if a challenge is approached, he or she would quickly say they are not able to do it. This shows how we admit to our lack of knowledge.
ReplyDeleteAn example of this aspect is the picture asking animals to climb a tree. This is a type of challenge that would be presented to a group who knows for a fact that they cannot do that specific task. This school system just asks for someone to do something no matter how hard it is. This then leads to the people admitting they do not know how to do something. I am against our current school system for this reason.
In the society we live in today it's hard to get by unless your gifted or talented in Someway. If your not good in sports then you have to be smart or a gifted student. Our piers and parents encourage us to get really good grades and make it to college or some type of learning school. That may not be easy for everyone because everyone is stronger in their own way. The cartoon above represents every school today. Teachers and administrators think that every person is capable o doing the same exact task.
ReplyDeleteThe type of student I am is someone who can do my homework and class work but when it comes to test I'm not strong like most of the other students. No matter how much I study or pay attention before the test I just can't seem to pass. When I get a bad grade I get lectures from my parents telling me how I can't get into any school with poor scores. In my opinion schools shouldn't make it so hard to get into. There are a lot of people who are capable of doing amazing things but never get that chance because of how our society is ran.
I enjoyed reading your blog because I believe it has a lot of truth behind it and you wrote from your own experience and perspective. Nice job Raekwon.
DeleteAlthough our education and society looks upon the good grades and amazing GPA, i do not believe that is where all the pressure lies. It is so easy for a student to lie about their grades or scoring to someone else simply because of competition. Many students would rather sit there acting like they understand the information given to them during class just because they feel as if they may be the only one with a question. As sad as that is in certain ways, it is very true and practically every high school has a student or two like that. The pressure is amongst the students within themselves. Because of how they may look compared to other students in the class, they may not get the information and when a test appears, may not be able to work through it and pass. Individually we all struggle in different ways and it is important to work through them.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I feel as if it should never be looked down upon because we lack in knowledge. Regardless if it is information a person should have known already or not, does not change the fact that the person will still not know about it. We all learn differently with any subject or life lesson in general. If I personally have a question in class, I will alway raise my hand or go to the teacher in private if that's what it takes. I need to be able to understand what I am learning in order to advance in my academics and life in general. We can all be intelligent ad go far in life, but it starts now...in a classroom, asking questions.
Education is a key factor in life and is something we must value because of how helpful it is in future situations. Getting a good education is very important in life; it can be the deciding factor in many important events in our lives. It could decide what type of job or career we’ll have in the future or even if we will be successful in the future or not. These are all examples of the pros of today’s educational system. Everybody wants to get a good education and do well in life and the only way to do that is through education and that’s exactly what today’s system does, but there are some cons to today’s educational system as well.
ReplyDeleteFor example, one con of today’s educational system is the pressure put on the actually education. Students of all ages are exposed to, too much pressure that demonstrates the acquisition of knowledge which can create problems in school. This creates problems within schools, within the work place for teachers and especially for the students themselves. With being exposed to such problems it can damage the process of school education and others educational processes.
Education is something everyone should value. Although, most countries do not have the accessible education system there is here in America. The U.S takes advantage of how rich and abundant we are as a country and underestimate the true value of education. I'm not pointing fingers, but there are some peers in my high school that I see as people who don't value what's right in front of them. We’re blessed as a nation to have the upper hand in technology and in having prestigious workers/educators to further benefit our society. A question you may be asking is “how would someone get to the point of success." Any time I come across that type of question I always get the same answer. “You don't get anywhere in life unless you work for it.” That "work" is your 12 year journey through public/private schooling.
ReplyDeleteTests are not testing your knowledge; it's testing a person on how well they can take a test. The learning process is different and more diverse from every person on this earth. For example, some are visual learners. These people learn best by seeing the problem right in front of their face and it helps them to further understand key ideas.
In school, most of the time we're put into classes of 15 to 20 kids at a time and we're all expected to be on the same mind set of everyone else. Not everybody is going to be able to comprehend and understand something as fast as the person sitting next to you. For a person who doesn't have much experience in floral arranging won't know how to properly put together a bouquet. A person, who has studied to be a florist, would have to proper knowledge to do so. Saying one person is dumb just because they're different or uneducated in that subject isn't fair. Not a single person has the same learning capability as another.
The system of education does push students to pursue their academic efforts to their limits and beyond. Although not everyone puts as much effort in actually trying in school as others, it does let them know where they stand academically. The cartoon can be use to represent a percentage of the students that can actually pass an exam in order to pass the test. The exams that the system of education has isn't always fair because the person has to have certain advantages from others which would make others feel like they are not as good as the others. Exams like this are what cause students to do less in class because they feel like they can't achieve much anyway, they might even feel as failures.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless, exams do help, in some cases, students push themselves through their limits so that each time they receive a certain grade they can achieve for a higher grade next time. Also after passing, doing, or successfully completing a task with a high enough grade it helps boost the self confidence in a student. Even though not all tests are the same and probably not even fair it does have its advantages and disadvantages.
The present system of education encourages us to admit our lack of knowledge. When in school we learn about facts, formulas, and points time that we have never learned before. With school we start out knowing so little and after about 17 years or more of schooling we graduate knowing so much. However, there are still things that we do not learn in school that we still have to know about. For example, in college you cannot learn about absolutely every single subject we learn the required courses and the course of our major.
ReplyDeleteOver our educational career we do take in a lot of knowledge, however, there is still a high amount of pressure. It is important to do well in school. Especially in a poor, unemployed economy it is important that you do well in school so that you can go to a respectable college and have a well-paying career. School is not always fair on judging students, especially when it comes to state testing. If you refer back to the cartoon it is obvious that the monkey will have no trouble climbing up the tree. However, it is not fair that a penguin or an elephant are being tested to climb a tree when for them it will be almost physically impossible. The education system should not give all students the same test but give them a test on their stronger subjects and their weaker subjects as well. There is math on the state test but with some students math might be their weaker subject while subjects like history, that are not on the test is their stronger subjects.
The education system that is in place now, isn’t as good as it should be. I believe that any education system should be better suited for the student individually. Like the picture describes, the teacher is asking a “classroom” to do something that may be easier for one student but almost impossible for some of the other students to do. In addition, in other situations the positions may be opposite where only a few students can complete the task while the majority of the class cannot. No matter what the situation may be however, the education system is still representing an unfair, more difficult, experience than it really needs to be.
ReplyDeleteIn addition, one huge flaw in the education system in my opinion is the fact that students are graded mostly upon how well they perform on tests. Long tests, short tests, quizzes, and even pop-quizzes is what is determining the overall “performance” of the student in the classroom; however this may also misjudge their abilities. Not all students are exceptional test takers although they may know the knowledge. Moreover, this automatically puts some students at a disadvantage. All in all, the education system is not fulfilling all students “needs”, or best education experience in better words. Some students may have the knowledge they’re being taught in class, but not being provided a way they can express that knowledge effectively.
Education always has its pros and cons, just like anything else. At times, it can be very simple, allowing the student to have a good grade. However, as we go on and advance on to the next grade every year, it’s only getting harder. Many successful people stress school and its’ importance. They say to do well in high school so colleges will consider accepting you. Even though school can measure an individuals’ knowledge intake, it can be very inaccurate at times. There are many smart individuals in this world but they can be really bad test takers, for example. They may have all this knowledge stored in their brain but they can get so nervous while taking a test and just forget it all. There can also be much pressure in school when it comes to the amount of homework and tests each week. Sometimes it can be too much for students to handle and they can just totally lose it, causing them to lose full interest in school.
ReplyDeleteThis cartoon illustration of the education system is simple, yet very powerful. Basically, it shows a class full of different “students” who may have different abilities and talents. Even though they are all different, the teacher (representing the education system) says that they will all be performing the same task of climbing up the tree to see if they can be selected. In reality, only a few of the animals in the illustration could successfully climb up the tree. For example, the fish in the bowl could definitely not climb up the tree, thus be labeled as “not smart enough”, which will then cause the fish to believe he is dumb. The monkey, however, will have no problem climbing the tree and will be rewarded for his success. This just shows that every student is different and goes about things differently. They always say being unique is a very good characteristic to have, but if we treat every student like a robot by giving them identical tasks, we probably won’t get the most accurate results.
The current education system helps students admit their lack of knowledge. A huge factor towards this is our teachers. They are always saying you do not know this or you will learn this next year. They are constantly bringing up the fact that we do not know the same information as the grade ahead or behind us. Another thing teachers do is always mention how much knowledge is lacked in our current brains. If we do not know the answer to a math equation or the correct grammar formation the teachers automatically believe that we have no knowledge at all. The education system definitely helps student admit their lack in knowledge.
ReplyDeleteThe cartoon is a bunch of animals, a tree, and professor that states “for a fair selection everybody has to take the same exam: please climb that tree.” I feel this cartoon shows the school system perfectly. That one exam: to climb a tree, only suits to a couple of animals. Only the monkey, bird, and maybe the dog can pass this exam. The fish, elephant, penguin, and seal have no chances of climbing that tree. This is the school system. Most exams are only made for certain students. Usually the ones who are advance or in BSI are at a disadvantage. The average students will be more equipped for the exam. Therefore, the exam is too easy for the honors students and too difficult for BSI students.

ReplyDeleteThe present system of education pressures others to demonstrate the acquisition of knowledge. In order to be successful in the future, one needs to maintain their grades and also have a high GPA. These factors all play into college acceptances. High grades and GPA equals acceptances or even scholarships in high-rated or IV League schools. Being able to accomplish this is not always very common. Many people have learning disabilities or other things that can hinder such a goal. Not everyone’s is born intelligent or able of receiving high grades. This accomplishment requires hard-work, motivation, and will. Nobody is the same; therefore, many people struggle with being able to comprehend specific material compared to their neighbor.
ReplyDeleteIn the cartoon, the man asks all the animals to perform the same task – to climb a tree. Just from seeing all the different types of animals, it is clearly impossible to every single one of them to accomplish the task. This idea applies to people’s knowledge and physical/mental abilities. In addition, not many people want to admit their lack of knowledge because society has agreed that being smart looks better than having difficulty. There should not be any pressure to demonstrate an acquisition of knowledge that a person may not have. Everyone has different abilities, so they shouldn’t be judged for their amount of knowledge.
Observing the educational system exclusively for high schools, I have recognized the only way for a student to be honored academically is a high GPA, high test scores or measurements in that sense. Students who may be very smart but, cannot test well or are stronger in other categories are looked over. Since the "keys" or the most important points in the educational system grant success, everyone always reaches for those goals because that has become what is accepted. The educational system should be based on each student's abilities and flaws and altered for each child. Administrates seem to forget about the hard work and effort students put in out of and after school. If students were grade additionally on this, many scores would automatically go up as "grades" would increase.
ReplyDeleteTests and grades are just a measure of the teacher's ability to explain the topic as well as the student’s skill in test taking. Once again, students find themselves trapped in this academic world and they feel very pressured to perform well on tests such as the SATs, ACTs, and state testing because these scores will offer them other opportunities. However, most students study for a while but, do not retain knowledge which will ultimately leave us with a hidden system of lack of knowledge. Some of the smartest people do not test well. Just a reminder, Albert Einstein didn't finish his high school years. And his reasoning- because the creative limits were restricted and he did not want to learn by such boundaries.
Today, knowledge is all about knowing facts. True, raw knowledge, however, stems from knowing how to solve, and figure out problems, not the ability to remember how to do things and remembering facts about history. Truly, I believe that the education system today is a joke, nothing is really productive. It is on rare occasions that I learn something that I will ever even bother to look at again in my life. I have talked with a teacher before, and she agreed that the system is not really beneficial.
ReplyDeleteIf teachers could teach their own way, then we would most likely be learning things that are much more useful. What we do and learn in school is all given to the school system by the government. Teachers know a lot more than any of the people in the upper ranks because the people above teachers, telling them what to teach, have probably never even been in front of a class and seen how students are with work that serves no purpose but to take up room in their head. In all, I believe that learning directly from the teachers mind to mine, everything would go much better in my adult life.
The current education system encourages us to admit our lack of knowledge. Every school year we learn new things to every subject. The school curriculum basically is in charge of what we learn as students. When we learn new things, it makes us realize that we do not know everything. There is always knew things to learn. There is also so much we do not know. No one is a major in any subject as a freshman because we have a lot to learn about in our high school and college years to come.
ReplyDeleteWe all learn the same thing, but others may perceive the information differently. Everyone understands concepts differently from one another. Learning skills may differ from slower abilities to understand or not understanding the concept as well as others. We all are asked to take the same test and some do well and others do not so well. The understanding and learning concepts of each individual differ in many ways. Some students excel in one subject and others may struggle with that subject.
The present education system has areas which need improvement due to it singling students out who do not have the same level of knowledge as others. For example, tests which determine placements and GPA's are created in such a way that most students can not portray their true abilities. Sitting a student down and telling them that virtually their only option of being accepted into a leading university is through scoring well on a test seems very foolish. Most people do not have the ability to produce their best work during a test. Therefore, having test results practically predict their educational future is not ideal. Also, a high school student's GPA contributes to which colleges they will be accepted to. A person is not at their full potential when they are in high school. This leaves a student to be placed in a situation where they can not excel as best as they could.
ReplyDeleteThe cartoon is a perfect representation of what the education system is. The image show different species given a task that very few of them can successfully perform. This is the case with testing. State tests only target certain areas which they feel students should be experts on. However, there are always students who are not able to convey their skills in an "acceptable" way. This not only is catastrophic to the student, but reflects poorly on the education system.
Today in the U.S.A. we are incouraged to learn several things at a time like Math, Language Arts, Science, and History. Our system is made up so that everyone is equally educated and learn a little bit of everything. If you limit your self on what you can do then you are limiting your brain. You have a brain so that you can learn things; to experience things throughout your lifetime and pass them down to a new generation, and teach you right from wrong when your body sends signals of pain if you hurt yourself telling you not to do it again. Teenager's think they know everything and never try to look at education as a way to prepair for the future and help them succeed in this harsh World we live in today. For example, when you have to pay your bills how do you know that people arent charging you more then you are supposed to. Or science with chemicals so that you know not to mix certain chemicals and get a bad out come. Also Language Arts to know how to read and understand what you are reading. Some student say they just arent smart so they give up on school easy, but they dont know how smart they are until they put an effort on trying to learn new things and become better students. For instant, I have personally said that my self with out trying and that lead to bad consequences and holding me back a year. They year later i learned that if you don't try just a little you wont succeed and come out on top. Like Gabriella said, "There is also so much we do not know". I agree with that because its true and we can always learn something new everyday. Although sometimes it hard to try and learn different subjects at once. People are born with different abilities and restrictions that cn limit them from learning something as easily as someone else. Like a mentally disable person.
ReplyDeleteThis picture can relate to the quote of Thoreau, that goes, "How can we remember our ignorance which our growth requires, when we are using our knowledge all the time?". This is saying that without knowledge we can expand our nations growth. For example, if a Nation is qualified with a good education system then their people will be educated properly. Like letting a student teach the class if he has not had the right education he requires to teach a class. Just like and elephant can't climb a tree but the monkey can because he was made for it and the Elephant wasn't. Its just like telling a fish to run without legs and a person to fly is he/she doesn't have wings. Like the saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make him drink" saying that you cant force people to do things they don't want to and can't do.
Idk i kind of confused me but yeah Idk...
DeleteUnfortunately, the present school systems do not allow for students to comfortably display their lack of knowledge. Teachers and peers expect the students to show all their knowledge of the material , but very rarely do any of them show what they do not understand. Due to students not displaying their lack of knowledge, their grades begin decreasing and they still don’t learn what they were previously confused about, since they didn’t show that they were confused about it. I think this is because the education system only requires the students to be tested on certain aspects that they are expected to know, but that some are better than others at.
ReplyDeleteFor instance, the picture above illustrates a similar system that can relate to our current education system. It shows that numerous very different species are all tested on climbing a tree. Now clearly the monkey can do it, but the elephant cannot do it. This is the same with real school testing. The students are tested on only certain points that some do better than others. Therefore they are not encouraged to display their lack of knowledge, but more so pressured to demonstrate their acquisition of knowledge.
In our present system of education, some students have a lot of pressure on them because they have show what they really know or what they understand of what they are learning. This really unfair to some students because not everyone is the same at how their knowledge is or some just want to keep it in their minds, to not share it to others. Even though education is the path to our future and it would help us in our life, having pressure on others won't help much. It would be hard to people because not everyone is the same.
ReplyDeleteThis cartoon illustration it shows how the system education works or what they do .It shows that they make their education a little bit not fair. They make things that some people may not be able to accomplish easily. In the picture it tells the animals to to climb the tree , which is going to be impossible for the elephant and for some of others will be easy , like for the monkey, but it doesn't matter matter much to them , even though it’s clear that it would hard to accomplish. This shows how humans might be , in the way way that some people might not be able to do what others can, but they will have to fight for what is being asked to them.
The present-day system of education can be simple and let students learn in a great environment, but it can also be terrible and take away the student’s learning ability due to pressure and a student can just stop doing work altogether and fail, resulting in a future that he or she is unprepared for. In a classroom, when one is wrong, some teachers lean into them getting the right answer by asking more questions and leading into the answer, said by the student. Other times, the teacher will flat-out say “no”, go onto another student (not to mention that there is about 9273039 hours left of class – more like 30 minutes, anyway) and leave the other student in the dust on the subject. That student may become fed-up with all the “no”s and just stop trying. Because of this, they do not want to admit that they lack knowledge, they are put under so much pressure and they stop having everything to do with education.
ReplyDeleteWhere am I getting? The point is, there is too much pressure to admit lack of knowledge. Everyone strives for the best (most do, anyway) and all the pressure builds up when one tries to reach the top. Most people will not make it to the top. Some people try to act like they know everything while in reality, they are acting like the classes are so easy. That student will not go far if they only act like they know it all and they are under pressure. They forget to stop and re-evaluate their school career and think about what they’re missing. Everyone lacks knowledge, that’s why we’re in school! No one will ever be the best at anything. He or she lacks so much knowledge that his or her knowledge is wrong and thinks they have all the knowledge. That is all.
I would say that the present system of education does not encourage us to admit our lack of knowledge. People are striving to do better each and every day. If everyone is trying to get to the top, than how can they admit they don’t know something? Easy, they can’t. Admitting they are not as smart as someone defeats the purpose of striving to be at the top. That will slow them down because the people will not take them seriously anymore. In this day and age, being at the top is the only way to succeed. So all people are on high alert for the people around them.
ReplyDeleteThe pressure of success is on some of the people in the school system. There are of course people who do not care about their grades, and they are going to be in for a rude awakening, but that is a different story. There is pressure towards the top of the ranks to be the best, and admitting defeat is not an option. For me, I try to get the best grades I possibly can all the time, but I don’t always get the best grades. It doesn’t keep anyone from trying because school is very important for everyone in life.
In my opinion, our present system of education does NOT encourage us to admit our lack of knowledge. Everyone in the world wants to be better than each other. For example, if student got a 86 on a test and another student got an 80 on the same test, this student will feel down because theres someone that is smarter than that kid. So the kid will study more so on the next test he'll get a better grade. Not only is it capitition, but people also strive to get alot smarter. Teenagers like us, try to do anything to make us smarter and know more. sometimes students go to extra help after school so they can learn more and to understand the concept well. Others go out to the real world and learn by them self.
ReplyDeletePeople are getting smarter and smarter everyday. People do things to make them smarter which can make there lives easier.
Everywhere one goes we experience or witness the fear of not knowing, the fear of being made fun of, the fear of what the other person may think is what holds most people back from asking questions or actually revealing that they too do not understand. Knowledge is ignorance in order to learn something one must first experience or be taught, people do not just wake up one day and go from having an average IQ, to knowing everything.
ReplyDeleteThe present system of education does both admit and lacks knowledge to their students, because everyone is different with different styles of learning and different ways of taking things in, that in our system of education if the child feels as if they will be judge for their question will not go out their way to solve their confusion but merely nod and say that they understand the lesson. Then we have the kids that do not really mind what others think of them and will go the extra mile to ask questions go after school to seek help, basically showing their ignorance on the subject but showing the effort that they want to understand, in the end those are the successful kids the kids that will have a bright future.
The reality of the present educational system is that it is concentrating on the ‘essential’ bit and only stuffing the student’s brain with facts. It simply requires a student’s brain to be stuffed with knowledge and facts. If a student gets a good grade, he or she is rewarded, rewarded by students, peers, teachers and parents. If the student gets a bad grade, or either fails, he or she will not receive any reward, but is more likely to be criticized from everyone. This happens because the education system pressures us to demonstrate our abilities/skills. In our society, being smart is defined by our grades and how much knowledge we possess, even though being smart does not really mean that one is actually ‘knowledgeable’.
ReplyDeleteIf we are afraid to reveal our lack of knowledge we will not be able to learn. In order to make progress we must admit where we are now. Such an admission of ignorance is not easy.
The system of education we use now has good and bad qualities but we as students have a lot of distractions. With new devices coming out and the social networks in our ways, many students have been acting worse each upcoming year. Many students are failing classes and staying back for their lack of knowledge. Many students now want to be out of school and stay in their house being on the phone or watching TV. In the past many students didn’t have TV or any electronics devices in the past. Now children, including parents are on with these electronic devices.
ReplyDeleteHowever, if we give our effort to students about to control their usage of using electronic devices, they may improve and graduate! Teachers can encourage students by having afterschool programs. Such as, playing games they are interested in or going on trips. So they can get their minds off their electronics. All in all, all of us should help students and encourage them with their issues and help them improve with their education.
The present education system does its job, but the world around us would be nothing without it. Almost everywhere you apply for a job it is required to have some sort of education. The present education system does not encourage us to admit our lack of knowledge, but that won’t stop people from knowing others do not know much. It is obvious in most people whether or not they’ve gone through the education system and learned and participated, or if they just sat back and relaxed or didn’t go to any type of school. You can tell what people have trouble in by the way they talk or read, or by the way they act and how they see things.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I know many people that haven’t gone to school. They have no lives. No job. No family, barely any money. The cartoon examples how the system is trying to treat everyone fairly, but certain times people might need their own special attention. It also examples how some people (the monkey) are smarter than others and equipped so they can climb the tree. Others (the other animals) aren’t as smart or educated and can’t climb the tree. Some people just need extra help in certain things, but there is no reason as to why people should feel dumb if they try and participate in the education systems of our country. No one is dumber than the other unless they haven’t had any education.
